Went for dinner on Christmas Day. Service was so slow and poor despite multiple members of staff on for the day. Had to ask several staff members each time for drinks, and courses. I’m gluten free - meal was entirely pre-booked and in the booking that I was gluten free (4 people). They brought a pre-starter to the table that was cheese and crackers. They brought me a bowl of cocktail olives. If you thought the Christmas crackers would be luxury gifts - I got marbles. 😉😂 The booking was supposed to be for 2 hours we were there for closer to 4 waiting for food to be served. No joke it was over an hour between the starter and the main. The presentation was vastly different between gluten and gluten free versions. One member of the party who was not gluten free didn’t receive stuffing or pigs in blankets and staff were so slow to acknowledge or action. Ordered coffees and teas to come with puddings. But the drinks didn’t come until after pudding dishes were being cleared away. They then brought out mince pies for those able to eat gluten. I mean every grocery store does their own brand of gluten free mince pies - how could you not have any especially with a specific NCGI menu?? I was offered chocolates, but without knowing the ingredients I didn’t partake. The music was on a loop and was starting over not long after we had our pudding. For a first impression of Browns this was lacklustre, and doesn’t look like I’m gonna repeat the experience.
