HIDDEN GEM AND NOT TO BE MISSED Attended for lunch as a couple, easy ample parking opposite for patrons of The Fox only. We chose our food from the pub menu but allowed to sit in the main restaurant area downstairs overlooking the kitchen, which we were very grateful for. Our young server Will was a joy, he was attentive but not overbearing with excellent communication skills, it must be said that all the staff at this place are approachable, professional and sincere, it is most noticeable that they all had smiles on their faces quite clearly happy in their workplace. My wife chose the fish & chips, we eat regularly at recommended and Michelin standard restaurants, she says it was 10 out of 10 and the best she’s ever tasted, particularly the delicate batter. I am Gluten intolerant and Will suggested the GF burger & chips as being a popular choice and I now know why, it was extremely tasty, the meat patty was quality meat, surprisingly so was the bun because more often than not they are bland, a welcome surprise. My wife had the Apple crumble dessert and I had the Affogato, both of which were a delight. The portions and price range are very generous for a high standard establishment such as this. The menus are clever and inviting, the cookery is top notch. Gavin the owner took time out to engage with us, he is charming and he can be rightly proud of what he has accomplished here. Our 1st time here but most definitely not the last.
