A one night stay in Alcañiz, luckily we stumbled across this place. V interesting Tapas or raciones. A little impersonal. But overall well worth looking out for.

Update December 2023: Just when you think it can´t get any better, Micelios surprises you. We had lunch there on a Friday and the restaurant was bursting at the seams. Despite that, the food and service were still brilliant: excellent mushroom risotto as a starter followed by breast of chicken in a plum and brandy sauce and a torrija (Spanish style French toast) with blackcurrant icecream. Inventive as always. PD in one of the photos chef and owner José Manuel demonstrates the 'tapa' of jamón serrano which won the regional championship and take him to the national one in Madrid in January. September 2023: We have just been back to Micelios. Excellent and always original weekday set lunch menu at 17.50€. Well worth it. Must book.It was full on a Tuesday lunchtime.

Sat at the bar as all the seating was reserved for lunch on Mother's Day. Can see why it was busy as everything we had was well presented, tasted very good and was original too. No English menu, but it was easy to find what we wanted and staff were helpful.
