We stayed here on Friday Feb 6th. Arrived at 14:30 and room was ready. We had a lunch booked in the Brasserie (separate review) which was pretty poor. Hotel is spotless and the best quality it has is the staff especially the younger ones. Had dinner as part of our package in Fire and Salt. It was quite forgettable. Wine list was good value though. Was charged a supplement for the cheeseboard but it didn’t say supplement on the dinner menu. Only supplement was for the steak. We used the leisure centre thermal suite which was fine but busy. I believe the use of The Spa thermal suite is circa €70pp which is ludicrous. Already spending €360+ for the night. Adding an extra €140 on is excessive so would rather a Monart for that money or maybe Bellinter who have a new outdoor spa area for only €25pp for guests. We had drinks in the bar after dinner. I noticed I was charged too much for the first round. On the next visit to the bat I asked for a receipt and again I was overcharged when compared to the bar menu pricelist. When questioned the bar man apologised and said that their prices were increased but they haven’t changed the menu price list yet. This was also the case for lunch items in the same bar earlier that day. The worst part of the night was the room. The heat was ridiculous. The pillows seemed great on the bed until you tried to sleep on them. They are so hard you get a creak in your neck trying to sleep. Breakfast was not bad. All in all the hotel is well kept but I wouldn’t be rushing back anytime soon.
