We sought Fred's out because it offered gluten free batter for the fish. When we arrived it was indeed no problem, which was great as a lot of chip shops only to gluten free at the start of the week! Anyway after a short wait, our fresh fish and chips were boxed accordingly with forks and napkins. The fish and chips were excellent. I had plaice and chips and my wife had gluten free cod and chips. The batter was lovely, the fish tender and chips well cooked and seasoned well. The young team were very professional and helpful and were doing a great job. The reviews I looked up were also good, so we fully endorse Fred's it's an excellent fish restaurant. The exterior is simple, but you will not be disappointed once you go inside we fully recommend and our thanks to the team for making our short visit complete, as we always try to have fish and chips every time we visit the seaside.
