We were gifted an afternoon tea for 2 voucher, and what a treat! Although small, the cafe is clean and comfortable, and the staff couldn't be more helpful. I made the booking well in advance and warned that I would require gluten-free food. We had a choice of teas (mine thoughtfully came with a gluten-free biscuit on the side), and then 2 large stands of food were brought to our table - one with gluten-free options that had been kept separate from my husband's food, with the stand clearly labelled. We each had a choice of sandwiches, quiche, cheese & onion pasty, scones with jam & cream, and a choice of cakes. Suffice to say, large doggie bags were required to take the surplus home! Every single item of food was absolutely delicious, and much admired by the other customers in the cafe. This was undoubtedly one of the best afternoon teas my husband and I have ever eaten, and it was so lovely that the gluten-free version was just as good as the "usual" one, rather than merely an afterthought. I can wholeheartedly recommend the Coffee Lounge to anyone - it is well worth a visit.
