If you'd like to learn more, continue reading: It was the former convent of San Francisco de Paula, a member of the Minims, founded in the 16th century. It disappeared with the confiscation of church property in the 19th century, having been used as a barracks and Protestant church. It was restored for Catholic worship in 1887, when the building was purchased by a pious Sevillian woman and donated to the Society of Jesus, which maintains the service. Images and relics from the House, now the Church of the Annunciation belonging to the University of Seville, headquarters of the Brotherhood of the Valley, arrived to the church. At the beginning of the 20th century, the Chapel of the Luises was built to house the congregation of Mary Immaculate and Saint Louis Gonzaga. It served as a Jesuit convent, the seat of the Luises, the School of the Apostolate of Prayer and Formation, the headquarters of the Congregation of the Immaculate Conception and Saint Louis Gonzaga, and the Loyola and SAFA foundations until 2020, when they moved to the Casa de Portaceli in Nervión. The Centro Vida and Radio Vida, the seed of Cadena Cope, were founded in this Jesuit house. This church serves Jesuit devotions and is a landmark in the city for devotees of the Sacred Heart, Saint Francis Xavier, and Father Tarín. It was the headquarters of the Minims convent of the Carretería and La Lanzada brotherhoods in the 18th and 19th centuries. The Javieres brotherhood was founded in the 20th century by the Jesuits' Ciudad de los Muchachos project, later moving to the Ómnium Sactorum parish. Today, devotees of the Christ of Miracles, a Peruvian devotion, attend the event and carry it in procession in October. If you liked it, please give it a like. Thank you.
