This gelato has set a new standard I never knew existed. Every ice cream I taste now just doesn’t come close and I mean that with complete sincerity. My partner and I went twice in one day. Not because we planned to because after the first visit we knew we were leaving Menaggio and knew wouldn’t be able to find this level of gelato anywhere else. The cheesecake flavour is on another level entirely. 1000/10 is not an exaggeration. Fresh, flavourful, and unlike anything we’ve tasted anywhere. We went to a highly reviewed gelateria in Rome a few days later and it was an embarrassment by comparison. Best gelato in Menaggio, best in Italy, and genuinely the best we’ve ever had in our lives by a landslide. The male server with the brilliant Italian moustache was fantastic, warm, friendly and remembered us from the visit the day before which made it even more special. And for anyone who is coeliac or gluten free, they do gluten free cones. If you know, you know how rare and appreciated that is. If you are anywhere near Menaggio you have no excuse. Go twice. You’ll thank yourself.
