A small pearl on the main street of Benevento: you enter and are immediately captivated. The aromas of their homemade waffles and crêpes make your mouth water right away! The venue appears bright and welcoming; with minimal yet very elegant furnishings, like the wooden trunks to sit on; the display of semifreddi is wisely always full of their delights, which distract from the wait at the counter. The counter is very well presented, clean, and with a very tidy display, different from the classic ice cream shop; in fact, there’s even a space to place your cup while you wait. The flavors are all displayed high up, leaving no doubts, thus easily comprehensible. Excellent ice cream, always fresh and never icy, with a great creamy texture. Absolutely a must-try is the 'gioelia' flavor and the new krock & cream, but I reiterate, they are all worth tasting. The ice cream shop also caters to people with gluten and lactose intolerance with excellent fruit flavors and a rice cone (never found in other gelaterias). Equally noteworthy are the freshly made crêpes, thin and light... they don’t weigh you down. To beautifully conclude are the semifreddi served in beautiful cups or glasses, included in the price. At Gioelia, the strong point, in addition to the product, is the friendliness, hospitality, and professionalism of the owner, who always has a smile for everyone. It is not the classic 'cold' ice cream shop but a lovely meeting spot where you can indulge in excellent treats or stop for a chat.
