I came here May 1st and specifically asked for something that was dairy free and gluten free since I have celiac and an intolerance to dairy. A girl behind the counter pointed to banana bread being the only option left. After eating the banana bread I noticed I had stomach pain really bad that night. My friend took me to Sprouts where I had to get something that would calm the abdominal pain and stomach cramping. I’m guessing either that banana bread was only gluten free and had dairy in it or it wasn’t gluten free. I’m still recovering from eating that. I definitely won’t be returning here. My health is too important to go through that again.

The cashier recommended the gluten free banana bread. Claimed there was no difference. It was worse than the normal banana bread. I was surprised she said they tasted the same

San Francisco customer service rears its ugly head yet again. My son had a basketball game across the street and I popped into this place for a coffee. I have celiac disease and was not even thinking of buying anything to eat until I noticed they had a separate gluten-free section. When a woman took my order I asked if the items were okay for celiacs because the pastries and bread looked so good. The woman looked at me with such disdain it took me aback. She said “a celiac shouldn’t even even be in here.” I asked if I could order a coffee or if that would kill me. She said they make these items for the poor gluten intolerant folks of the world (which is mostly BS - you have IBS people!) but honestly this amounts to false advertising. I would have purchased something for my family members but after that they lost my business. Later I saw the women roll her eyes at me. My company routinely orders breakfast from this place and I will advise them to stop. Customer service matters - be kinder to people even if you think your customers are annoying (which I was not).

Loved the vegan banana bread which was also gluten-free. In my opinion it could’ve had some chocolate chip or walnuts in it as well to add a bit more variety but it was delicious nonetheless! They also had a chocolate chip cookie, a snickerdoodle and a muffin which were vegan and gluten-free. I’ll be back to try the other options for sure

The best bakery in San Francisco! Their bread is fresh with a wonderful texture and flavor, and so are the pastries. I was also impressed by how good their gluten free options are. The staff is always welcoming and friendly, making every visit a pleasure. Pro tip: If you’re visiting near a holiday make sure to get there early — you won't want to miss out before they sell out!

Love this little hidden gem! Coffee is great and their Gluten Free goodies are amazing! The GF Nutty Bird Bread is my favorite 😋 Update: A year later and it's still my favorite little hidden gem coffee shop/ bakery in the city! If you haven't tried it then you need to! 😊

So glad that Jane carries decent gluten free options. Work at another bakery that does not have that option. I absolutely love the quinoa loaf and it was suggested to me to get the nutty bird loaf when the quinoa loaf was unavailable. They don’t always have the gf loaves when I come in, which is understandable albeit difficult to pin down. And the staff is always so lovely. Overall a delightful experience.

Very sweet staff. Loved trying out their gluten free sourdough (with a good selection of cheeses to pair!) and raspberry muffin. Cute little park across the street to sit and eat!
