Bavettes is worth the hype. Reservations have to be made the day they are released, otherwise know you’ll be waiting a while on the waitlist even if you go early in the day. I really appreciate their waitlist system - when your table is close to being ready they text to ensure you’re still there and only wait five minutes for you to respond before moving on. This keeps the line moving. Be sure to check your phone or you’ll miss it! Snagging a seat at the upstairs bar is your option without a reservation, but you have to be confident and act fast or someone will steal it right from under you. Bavettes is great with gluten-free preparation and the service is impeccable. You go for the steaks, cocktails and ambiance (the other stuff is great too). Love the speak-easy vibe and it’s the best dirty martini I’ve had in the city.

ICONIC. One of my favorite places to be in this world. Dinning in the parlor is such a cool experience. Dark, comfortable, focused, vibrant. My second time here, still such a great experience. All drinks and food were perfectly crafted. Serena led our service and she was very knowledgeable and attentive along with the supporting staff and manager who took extra steps to ensure my wife's gluten allergy was a focal point of concern, and we really appreciated that. We will always be back for Chicago's best dining room.
