Wow, this place was fantastic! I’m a celiac and walked in and was greeted warmly. It is way more than a bakery! Sweet or savory take your choice. I got the glazed strawberry donuts! They were the best donuts (yes I got 6 next day donuts for $11) that I have had in 30 years! I wished I lived closer because I would definitely be a regular. If you happen to be in Washington DC near the Capitol Building stop by Sweet Crimes Gluten-Free Bakery.

We hired Sweet Crimes to create our wedding cake. They worked with us to design a beautiful, two-tier mousse cake with a mirror glaze heart. Unfortunately we had a bit of a snafu transporting it home initially, but Sweet Crimes was incredible and kindly fixed the mess -- in fact, we liked the "fixed" cake even better than the original (and it had been beautiful to begin with)! The cake was also absolutely delicious. Price was completely reasonable for a gluten-free wedding cake. We would absolutely recommend them and would use them again.

Sweet Crimes is one of those places that makes you pause mid-bite and say, “wait… this is gluten-free?!” Finding gluten-free baked goods that are actually enjoyable can be hard, and so many options end up feeling boring or like a compromise. Sweet Crimes is the opposite of that. Everything I’ve tried has been flavorful, satisfying, and genuinely good. The donuts are soft and indulgent, not dry or crumbly, and you can tell real care goes into what they make. The staff is always welcoming and helpful, which makes the experience even better. If you’re not sure what to get, you can ask and they’re happy to make recommendations. It never feels rushed or intimidating. It doesn’t feel like a “special diet” bakery. It just feels like a really good bakery that happens to be gluten-free. If you’re gluten-free and craving something fun, comforting, and well-made, this place is such a gift. I’ll absolutely keep coming back.

I'm gluten and dairy free. I'm also a little sensitive to oat. This place caters to me. I end up spending hundreds of dollars every visit. The cupcakes are great with a cup of tea. The banana bread is amazing. I end up buying 6 pieces of bread & it's so good. Do they sell anything bad!? The baker doesn't risk it for the biscuit you'll only worrying about the gravy baby!

Last minute decided to stop by on my way home, got 3 egg and cheese sandwiches and a pumpkin spice cupcake. Cupcake was fantastic! Egg and cheese sandwich’s were kinda ehh, the biscuit part was amazing, but the egg and the sauce didn’t really do it for me. I’d definitely come back for the sweets though.
