VIPS is a welcoming venue in Madrid, known for its wide range of gluten-free options. It is particularly appreciated for its attention to those on a gluten-free diet, although there may be room for improvement to ensure a totally satisfying experience. A great meeting point for families of all generations.
Venues are suggested by the Gluto community. We don't yet have enough information for the gluten-free safety report for this venue.

This morning we had breakfast at VIPS on Clara del Rey (Madrid) and ordered an avocado toast with egg and cream cheese on gluten-free bread. Our surprise was receiving two tiny pieces of bread, while the same breakfast with regular bread is almost three times larger. When we requested a bit more bread to minimally balance the plate, they indicated we would have to pay for it separately. This is not the first time something similar has happened to us. On other occasions, we have requested to adapt breakfasts, like the American California, substituting some elements for gluten-free options, and the response has always been that any adaptation must be charged separately. We understand that there may be specific protocols for celiac individuals, but those of us who simply do not consume gluten should also have reasonable alternatives. It is frustrating to have to constantly negotiate to receive a plate equivalent to what other customers receive. Although the VIPS menu has improved and expanded its offerings, I believe there is still a significant deficit in gluten-free options. We aren't asking for more than anyone else: simply for the dishes to be equivalent in quantity and quality, without having to pay a supplement for it.

I give the highest praise for the service provided by Yahya. Very attentive at all times and he informed me with great professionalism about the gluten-free dishes. It's always appreciated to find such helpful and kind people today.

I love VIPS, but what happened today is unacceptable. How can a piece of cake be served to a table with a finger print planted on the top? It seems intolerable to me. After complaining to the manager, the man brought us the container where all the cake was cut into portions, and they all had finger prints!!! The person who cut the cake into portions, how can he be so utterly careless to hold each piece with his finger? According to the manager, they come cut like this from the supplier (ok, I have no reason to doubt this man's word), but come on, how can someone serve the cake from the cake container to the customer's plate without noticing? How can they take that plate to a customer's table? If you do CSI, you'll know who it was, because the finger prints are perfectly visible. I illustrate with a photograph I took of the monstrosity before they took it away from the table.

We started the vacation in Madrid with a family dinner at Vips. Three generations: grandparents, children, grandchildren. Age range from 7 to 84. Vips usually has options for everyone... but that's no longer what it used to be. For my part, I intended to order the Los Angeles salad that I love... and I loved it. My husband is loyal to the Vips Club. Grandpa had the chicken breast villaroy, which is not like the one grandma makes but is still acceptable. This one, who is celiac, can't resist ordering gluten-free pancakes. They come out three and big. The little one has the kids' menu with a burger WITHOUT cheese. And her mother, grilled chicken breast with salad, and her daughter's fries. Everyone was happy, even my daughter who ordered the seasonal salad: tomato, burrata, and figs... but they only served her tomato and mozzarella because they ran out of figs 😳, just like that, without warning, they eliminated one of the three ingredients—the most original one—and didn't consult about it? However, instead of two burratas, they put three... so you won't miss the calories. Because that has indeed worsened a lot at Vips, the service. First, it’s scarce, just two girls for the dining area and terrace. They were very kind, though. But the delay was significant, in taking notes, in serving the order... part of it, of course, because the Vips Club and the pancakes still took 10 more minutes. In refilling drinks. In billing. Overall, Vips has clearly stopped being a "fast food" restaurant, at least in the literal sense. However, I know I will return because Vips is Vips... so many memories and good times weigh too much to set aside. And also, I really like the Los Angeles Salad 😍 Thanks to Vips for their response, which also shows that they read the review; it is not automated. I understand that a product can run out; what I don’t understand is that the customer is not warned and one ingredient is replaced by another just like that.
