Yesterday we were at VIPS in Mirasierra and the experience was very disappointing, especially regarding the attention to gluten-free options. From the beginning, we showed interest in dining on the terrace. We didn’t mind waiting if necessary, but at no point did we perceive any interest from the staff in helping us or finding a solution. In the end, we were left wanting to enjoy the terrace, with the feeling that they didn’t even bother to try to meet our request. Although the menu has several gluten-free products, we were only offered a sandwich. When the rest of the options were unavailable, the only response we received was a simple 'we don’t have that', without any attempt to look for alternatives or offer any solutions. What surprised us the most was the lack of flexibility. Since there was only one option available for my son, we suggested that at least they could compensate by adding half a sandwich more, but they also showed no willingness to do so. The situation continued with dessert. While the menu includes more appealing options, my son was only offered a glass of milk. They also didn’t want to include gluten-free pancakes claiming that the format is bigger, without considering that there were practically no other alternatives available for him. It was quite embarrassing that the rest of the family could choose from numerous options while my son barely had anywhere to choose from. Beyond the lack of some products, what we truly missed was an attitude focused on solving the problem and providing the best possible service within their limitations. The final feeling was one of little empathy, limited adaptability, and lack of interest in adequately serving customers with special dietary needs.

The waitress who served us, I don't know what she was thinking, but she got everything wrong—3 pancake dishes (1 gluten-free) and 1 coffee, Coke Zero, and Sprite, she treated it like 2 Sprites, and not even the coffee. When I told her that the pancake was just plain (without syrup or cream), she said, "Oh, I didn't understand!" And her colleague had to come to finish the service. My son had to go to university, and in the end, he didn't have time to eat everything. I think it's awful that her colleague had to apologize for her. I have gluten intolerance, and on top of that, she threw the plate away without saying anything. Phew, I could say more but it's done now... needs improvement. Honestly, they made me have a bad moment. When billing, they don't ask if you want a copy or not of what you paid... phew...

We have had a pleasant experience. The truth is that Sandra attended to us wonderfully. I also suggest that more options for celiacs could be added. For example, instead of three gluten-free pancakes, it would be nice to have just one like in the normal menu.

There are gluten-free options. I tried the gluten-free vips pancakes, a bit dry but nothing that syrup and whipped cream can't solve.
