The Barbagia Restaurant offers authentic Sardinian flavors such as the excellent platter of cold cuts and the famous porceddu. However, the availability of gluten-free and lactose-free options may be limited. Good service but be sure to specify your food intolerances.

Typical Sardo food with many gluten-free options. Our waitress was celiac and made sure to pay extra attention. Abundant and excellent food. Prices a bit high, because it's a tourist spot.

We went to dinner a few nights ago at this restaurant and it was a disappointment as well as a disaster. Honestly, I wouldn’t recommend it because I don’t consider them professional in managing intolerances and I didn’t feel safe eating in this place. Since I can’t eat gluten or lactose, I chose gluten-free pasta with wild boar ragù as a starter. As soon as it arrived, I started eating it, but something didn’t seem right because there was cheese. So I asked and it turned out that the owner had "forgotten" to communicate my lactose intolerance to the kitchen... Therefore, there was cheese with lactose in the pasta and I must say, even though they were kind in the service afterwards, I couldn’t enjoy the evening as I am severely intolerant. They are too unreliable on the intolerance front. Additionally, there isn’t much choice of gluten and lactose-free dishes on the menu, so it’s better to find other places.

Extremely kind and helpful staff, with special attention in serving and preparing gluten-free dishes. Super abundant portions and normal prices. The venue has somewhat dated furnishings.

I booked at this restaurant to try the legendary Sardinian porceddu and especially because it promised a wide selection of gluten-free options. Exceptional mixed Sardinian cold cuts platter and very good porceddu. However, regarding the gluten-free options, the pizza (which was guaranteed at the time of booking) was denied, and there was only the lasagna available (still frozen inside). If, like us, you are on holiday and looking for a place to eat gluten-free Sardinian specialties, do not rely on this. As for the service, I can only say that we had the table booked for 9 PM, and after an hour and 10 minutes, the cold cuts platter arrived, with the excuse that it took longer because the lasagna had to come out as well; the lasagna was FROZEN! Moreover, at the table next to ours, a regular lasagna was served instead of the gluten-free one, which I consider very serious, but fortunately, the person was not severely allergic.

excellent Sardinian dishes served with kindness and friendliness. Also typical gluten-free dishes from Sardinian cuisine! Compliments to the kitchen, management, cleanliness, and table service.🥇
