When I first saw the pictures of this place I was like. It’s about time we get a good BBQ restaurant around here cuz that’s a niche that sorely lacking in this area. We walked in with my wife, 10 yo girl and 1 yo nephew they greeted us right away. They asked if we had a reservation? We said no. She said you should next time. She looked around and lucky for us a table was getting cleared just as we walked in. So the lady sat us down. So if you plan on visiting, CALL AHEAD AND MAKE A RESERVATION. It’s a quiet and clean and cozy. After about 10 min with a menu in hand we gave our order. Although staff was super nice and attentive the food took 25 min to come to table. My wife’s food( pulled pork, BBQ beans & Mac ) was cold. Mine(brisket and greens, and mac). My brisket was lukewarm and just ever so slightly dry. I like the beans and the greens were good but different. Usually I’m a glutton when it comes to greens but these were very very tangy. Almost sour. Do they use vinegar? Too much? IDK but I like it with my food. When my 4 slices of brisket were eaten, the greens were way too strong for me to eat by itself. I choked the last fork of greens down cuz I paid for them, after all. My wife didn’t finish her food. She packed it up and said I’ll eat it at home cuz it’s cold. We had cornbread as an appetizer but it was small for price. Like a 2”X2” square for over $10?! It’s the kind of cornbread I really don’t like. Crumbly and grainy/dry. I like it soft and chewy. Yeah I’m a jiffy mix kind of guy. Kid food doesn’t count cuz my girl is a picky eater. All in all, mixed feelings and definitely underwhelmed on my first visit. The ladies were super nice but I feel they fumbled the ball on delivering the food soon and hot. Who wants cold food? Let alone cold BBQ.
