Je n'aurais jamais imaginé qu'on puisse avoir un festin aussi incroyable de nourriture végétarienne/végane en Allemagne ! Je suis arrivé à Heidelberg depuis Schwäbisch Hall (Stuttgart), où il n'y avait que deux choix pour un végétarien : Käsespätzle et Maultaschen. Et si l'on est intolérant au lactose, on ne peut subsister que de Kartoffelsalat. Ce restaurant m'a nourri comme jamais auparavant ! Il semblait y avoir d'innombrables créations de délices végétariens, tant froids que chauds, salés et sucrés, qui couvraient plusieurs longues étagères. J'aurais pu avoir au moins 3 assiettes pleines, si ce n'était pour le fait que mon ami local payait le déjeuner (ils facturent au poids), et je ne voulais pas vider son portefeuille :-).

Amazing veggie/vegan buffet style restaurant where you help yourself and pay by weight. It's a great concept and the dishes are varied and based on a wide variety of vegetables including a few we don't see often in the UK (eg Kohl rabi) I would guess around 50 to 75% are vegan - it would be great if more of the pasta and warm dishes were vegan too. About half the dishes are also gluten free. Brilliant cakes too, again good vegan selection and a few options for vegan coeliacs. We spent 3 nights in Heidelberg and visited twice, would definitely go again. We needed Google translate to understand some of the labels but when one of the staff realised we were trying to understand allergens she went and got her colleague who spoke good English and was able to help us.
