We recently stayed for 4 nights, with our excitable dog. The building itself is beautiful, and as a listed building there are of course some older features. Our room was very clean and of a decent size. The beds were a little soft for my liking, but that is personal preference, my companion and dog were perfectly happy with the beds. The breakfast options were great and I really appreciated seeing lactose free yoghurt and availability of gluten free options too. The staff were friendly and helpful before we even arrived when I called to confirm a few details before our arrival. During our stay we were greeted with friendly professionalism by all the staff at all times. Even when I accidentally set off the fire alarm (sorry again for waking everyone so early that day). They were very accommodating and made special arrangements for us at breakfast each morning to ensure everyone's comfort due to our dog being dog reactive. Staff even gave our dog fusses and a little breakfast of her own, so the dog definitely rates The George Hotel & Granary 5/5. Would we stay there again? Absolutely.
