What a fantastic place with great people and awesome food! My wife has a gluten sensitivity and it's hard finding a place she can really enjoy without worry. The food was amazing and sooo many gluten free options including all the desserts! They also worked with our group of 6 to get us in earlier so we didn't have to kill 3 hours before our reservation while traveling fro. Michigan. Thanks again to the staff and chef!

Amazing!! My favorite dining experience while recently visiting in the Bay Area. I have celiac and had a surprisingly hard time finding good gluten free places to eat here. This place raises the bar. We got the Mac and cheese, sweet potato tostones, crepes florentine, & pistachio cake. My husband was blown away by the crepes florentine esp bc it was also vegan. Even the decaf coffee was actually decent. I can’t say enough what a relief and joy it is to safely pick anything off a menu AND have it taste so good. Will definitely be back next time I am in SF.

Of all the places in San Francisco I chose to come here for my 40th birthday date night with my fiancé. Firefly is my favorite restaurant— every time I come here. I’m so happy that a place like this is thriving, wonderful staff, and a great menu. The food is so flavorful and to top it off, the menu is pretty much exclusively gluten-free, which has been amazing as a gluten-free person highly recommend the fried chicken, the mac & cheese, and the seeded bread is so delightful. Love coming to this neighborhood hem, you will have no regrets!

Appena avuto una CENA DELIZIOSA al 100% senza glutine. Il nostro tavolo ha provato tutte e tre le insalate e le ha trovate tutte buone. Ho adorato il salmone dell'oceano e il gumbo. Anche il nostro tavolo ha apprezzato le crêpe alla fiorentina, mac e cheese e pollo fritto. Hanno anche birra stout senza glutine!!!

Dio, questo posto è un gioiello. Se sei senza glutine, Firefly diventerà il tuo ristorante preferito in città. Se sei con glutine, penso che sarà comunque così :) Per cominciare, l'atmosfera qui è molto calda e accogliente. Perfetta per una serata autunnale. L'arte e gli ornamenti/eccentricità non passano inosservati. Apprezzo davvero come questo non sembri solo un ristorante - è quasi come un'estensione della tua casa (solo con cibo senza glutine straordinario). Il che mi porta al... cibo senza glutine. Pollo fritto?! Voglio dire... come?! Questo è stato il mio primo pollo fritto in assoluto, e non ha deluso. Ha anche superato le aspettative del mio ragazzo (che ama il glutine) - quindi sai che è buono. Il piatto di zucca era eccezionale - così anche le patate dolci. Ma la ciliegina sulla torta è stato il brownie con cornflakes e gelato alla vaniglia... non ho smesso di pensarci da allora. È un menu 99,9% senza glutine, a parte 1 contorno di pane che può essere sostituito con pane di mais (se ricordo bene) quindi BASICAMENTE è un PARADISO SULLA TERRA

Hands down, top food I’ve had and on top of it all was gluten free. I’m GF and the fact I had options outside of changing the bun, or just a burger is first win but I had fried chicken, gravy, Mac and cheese, bread and they weren’t subs it was just their menu. Sammy was an INCREDIBLE waitress and took care of us and added to the evening. It was all so filling and for the atmosphere and food it was fairly priced. We are visiting but would 100% go back, it was delish! You must go. And she brought a blanket out for us since we sat in their outdoor seating

Top 3 ristoranti per noi a SF! Menu stagionale rotante, quasi tutto può essere preparato senza glutine (gf) o vegetariano/vegano. Prenota in anticipo e lascia spazio per il dessert!

This has been one of my stable/consistent neighborhood favorites for about 15 years! They have been around for about 30 years now. The entire menu is gluten free for those who need it. And menu items rotate on-off for seasonal variance with a core set of items always staying! They even do Jewish high holiday specific menues! Overall, the service is super friendly, quirky, and super accommodating. The food has always been outstanding. From the core items, two things I ALWAYS get are the Daikon radish cake (yeah, that doesn’t sound good but my god, it’s amazing, trust me) - the broth, mushrooms and scallions all blend to make such the perfect bite. The other thing I get is the fried chicken. Yep, you heard me correctly. It’s fantastic, as is the biscuit with honey and the mashed potatoes. I will warn you, it comes with a small side of hot sauce that is tasty but hits like you ate the center of the sun. lol!!! You have been warned. Bar is beer and wine only. They do allow corkage but don’t be a jerk and bring something they have on the menu and make sure it’s an elevated bottle (and off a tasting to the server or bar team if it is a special bottle) - I hate when people bring a cheap bottle to avoid buying from the restaurant. Anyway, this place is always worth a stop and has never let me down in 15 years. Good food, not Michelin quality but flavors that will make you happy, and an environment that feels comfortable, homey/warm. (Plus, they have a nice outside parklet on the two days it’s nice in SF) 🤣

This is our favorite local “nice” place to eat! We have come for many years, and recently heard they might close. So I’ve eaten here for every birthday, out of town guest, in the past month. They are consistently delicious with most of the menu gluten free and great vegetarian options. This is the fried chicken you remember for years later. The daikon radish cakes are amazing!

A fantastic little place in a neighbourhood tourists probably don’t go to. We went twice and they were fab. They have gluten-free options and were superb with my various allergies/intolerances - they marked up a special menu for me in advance. All the food was really nice - a total find and well worth going out of your way for. Not that they need tourist custom - they were busy both weeknights and weekends when we went, which is not surprising given how good the food is.

What a great dining experience. Friends had heard about this restaurant but not yet visited — and gosh, are we happy they let us join them! The menu is mostly gluten free — and where it is not, alternatives were available. The flavors were well paired — the artichoke and green olive salad is a great way to start a meal. The wine list offers a great variety at most price points. From a truly gluten free perspective, the max and cheese was good — would have like a little more flavor, but that’s probably personal preference. The friend chicken was next level — perfect mix of crispy and moist — and not too greasy. The brownie sundae featured salted caramel drizzle and crispy corn flakes — it was great way to end the meal. All in all, this was a delicious meal and we highly recommend the visit.

Non chiedere un tavolo perché c'è un tavolo da due dove letteralmente si affronta un muro. Cibo (in ordine) 1. Pane al formaggio [DA ORDINE ASSOLUTAMENTE] - assolutamente fenomenale 2. Tostada di hamachi - davvero buona e leggera 3. Le patate dolci erano davvero saporite ma quasi troppo immerse nella salsa per i miei gusti 4. Pollo fritto - onestamente il più acclamato nelle recensioni e... mediocre nel migliore dei casi :( volevo davvero apprezzarlo ma era solo molto insipido. Nel complesso, ordinerei il pane al formaggio ma a meno che non stia portando un amico celiaco probabilmente non tornerò. Comunque vale la pena provare una volta!

As someone with celiac, it’s an amazing feeling to be able to go in a restaurant that I can trust. The service was wonderful and everyone at my table enjoyed the food that they ordered. I got the rancheros plate and it was amazing. I would highly recommend to anyone!
