We chose the restaurant after reading the recommendation of a blogger. We should have read the google reviews as well. We started to read them after we got our food since it wasn't what we expected. First the positive things. The gluten free bread with the olive oil. We ordered the rice with roasted pig and red wine eco, cod filet with guava milk sauce and hot pot with brown rice and vegetables. Desert was caramelized apple pie with vanilla ice cream. Main dishes: The moment I got my roasted pig I realized that it doesn't look like anything close to what is shown on the website. Not really an eye catcher and the taste just confirmed it. The rice tasted too salty. I should have asked him if he uses boullion cubes.The pork was luke warm. The cod filet was placed on a little portion of mashed potatoes which was drowning in the water that ran out of the cod filet once cut with the knife. The hot pot with brown rice and vegetables was ok according to our kids. Like everything else we ordered this dish was overpriced. Dessert: My impression was that the caramelized apple pie with vanilla ice was a slice of the same bread we had with the olive oil. Just thinner slices with some thin slices of apple and caramel on top plus the vanilla ice cream. We ordered three portions. One of them obviously was done with the last slice of the loaf of the bread and smaller in size than the other two. Price remained the same. I have eaten better organic/gluten-/dairy-/lactose free dessert and dishes in the Canary Islands with good price/value. The same applies for main dishes. For the last 10 years our diet has been gluten and dairy free. We live in the Canary Islands and we are aware how difficult it is to find all the things we need to keep our diet. But we manage. We're also aware of the higher prices for these products. Still doesn't justify the prices in this restaurant. Other restaurants in the Canary Islands with gluten and dairy dishes in better quality have justified prices. After reading reviews of guests who criticized the food we decided not to open the discussion with the owner. As a general rule, I don't get involved in arguments when my children are present. In previous reviews, I read that the owner isn't open to criticism. In addition I didn't want to be accused of trying to negotiate a discount. The concept is good and some people are satisfied with food. We were not satisfied and we cannot recommend this restaurant. Edit. With no word I mentioned that I was unhappy about the time we had to wait. Was totally fine and actually we did not have to wait long. I recommend to put a disclaimer regarding the pictures in your website. " Only looks like this in special occasions....."
