I stopped by Kin Restaurant in Long Beach for some Thai food. I hadn’t been here in a long time, so I decided to give it another visit. The restaurant is clean, has nice decor, and offers an amazing atmosphere. We were seated fairly quickly, but unfortunately, after being seated it took almost 10 minutes for our server to come back to offer drinks or check if we were ready to order. What made it more frustrating was that about five minutes after we were seated, the table across from us was seated and had their order taken almost immediately. Once we were finally helped, we ordered: Pad Woon Sen (glass noodles with chicken, bok choy, carrot, white onion, green onion, mushroom, and egg — I added shrimp) Nutty Chicken (crispy chicken with cashew nuts, bell peppers, onions, and dried chili in a roasted chili sauce) Avocado Roll (avocado, spring mix, basil leaves, and cucumber wrapped in rice paper; vegetarian and gluten-free) The Pad Woon Sen was good overall, but it would have been better if the shrimp and chicken were seasoned the same way as the rest of the dish. The Nutty Chicken was very good — well seasoned and full of flavor. My favorite item of the meal was the Avocado Rolls. Simple, fresh, and full of flavor — absolutely delicious. Despite the slow start with service, the food itself was solid, and I’d still consider coming back, especially for the Avocado Rolls.
