Such a great experience. As a wife of a person with a celiac disease I finally enjoyed sharing the food which was as good as in a non gluten free restaurant for me. We had the fried fish tacos and the burger. Both meals were juicy and delicious. The atmosphere of the place is very nice and festive, ideal for date nights or celebrations.

As someone with celiac disease, I’ll always appreciate and support dedicated gluten-free restaurants, so major credit to Restaurant for creating a fully gluten-free dining space. Having places where you can order freely without the usual stress or cross-contamination concerns genuinely means a lot, and I hope they continue to succeed because we need more places like this. The restaurant itself was very nice overall — cute decor, good location, and a good mix of indoor and outdoor seating. We sat outside and enjoyed the atmosphere, and the service was friendly and solid throughout the visit. I also appreciated the variety on the menu because it’s always exciting seeing more options available in a dedicated gluten-free setting. That said, the food itself ended up being a bit underwhelming for the price point. It wasn’t bad by any means, just more “okay” than memorable, especially considering the cost. If the pricing had been lower, I probably would’ve walked away feeling differently about it, but as it stood, the food quality didn’t quite match the expectations the pricing created. Most importantly though, I didn’t get sick afterward, which is always a huge plus when traveling with celiac disease. Overall, I’d consider going back if I’m in San Francisco again, though it probably wouldn’t be at the very top of my list unless I started seeing reviews mentioning improvements or menu changes. Still, I absolutely appreciate what they’re doing and want to continue supporting dedicated gluten-free spaces like this.

Wow! Our group ordered fish tacos, plantains with guacamole, chicken mole, and enchiladas. So GOOD! The service was excellent, and the margaritas were stunning. And I love that just about everything is gluten-free and celiac-safe! We’ll be back.

Xica is in a bright, beautiful space. We enjoyed excellent service. Every dish was delicious and beautifully presented. Excellent experience. We chose Xica because one member of our group has to be gluten-free, and we knew that all of Xica 's dishes are GF. The very pleasant surprise was that every dish we had was also exceptionally good.

I flew in from New Zealand and my friend took me here, the most amazing food and service I’ve ever had in SFO!! Thank you! The corn I could’ve eaten all day. Fried chicken?! And gluten free! First time in 15 years I’ve been able to eat this at a restaurant. Thank you again.

We visited Xica in San Francisco and I was immediately impressed — the entire restaurant is 100% gluten-free, which means no risk of cross-contamination. As someone with celiac disease, that gave me real peace of mind, and I had no symptoms after eating here. The interior is beautifully designed, with a clean, modern look and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. We ordered: • Quesadilla – 💲11 House-made large tortilla with cheese. • Street Tacos – 💲18 Three tacos topped with onion and avocado salsa. • Waffle Churros – 💲16 Crispy, sweet, and absolutely delicious — easily the highlight of the meal. I’d come back for those alone! While the dishes were generally tasty, I personally found the tacos a bit too meat-heavy. I was hoping for more fresh elements like tomato or greens to balance the flavors. That said, the ingredients were high quality, and the overall experience was still enjoyable. If you’re gluten-free, Xica is a fantastic and safe choice in San Francisco — and definitely don’t skip the waffle churros!

Stopped by here today on their happy hour 230-5p. It was perfect. Late lunch in SF weather was excellent. We sat outside under one of their umbrellas. We were greater immediately by this young woman who worked there. She had a great smile and wonderful personality. Very friendly. This restaurant is 100% gluten free. So that made ordering hard since everything was available. Lol. We asked for some recommendations and she mentioned a few and we went with it. The potatoe tostadas were so delicious, the chicken wings were cooked to perfection. A little crisp but still juicy, the sauces and toppings elevated the dish with much flavor. I ordered a chicken quesadilla which is hand made fresh from corn, hubby got the steak quesadilla and we shared their loaded fries. All foods were fresh and quite filling. Topped it off with a cucumber lemonade. What a meal! Will Def be back.

We book a res on a Friday night for dinner, my bf found Xica since I'm GF and it has great ratings. I love that they are a 100% gluten free kitchen. The ambience was fun, great decor and it wasn't too busy, there were two medium sized birthday groups - but there is a private Doerer room and a back area that was empty. The drinks were great, I loved the Dirty horchata con Piquete, and the Hibiscus margarita was really good. We had the Fried Chicken- Marinated organic chicken thigh, dredged in house gluten free flour mix, roasted peppers with came with fresh handmade tortillas, Mexican rice & seasoned slow cooked pinto beans on the side and the Nopal & Chorizo Sopes - House made corn masa base, pinto beans, cactus, linguiça, chorizo, topped with cotija cheese, herbs. Both super flavorful and had great texture. The corn tortilla on the doors was really thick, and the fried chicken was delish! We finished out with the Waffle Churros- Gluten free homemade waffle with sugar & cinnamon, sweet condensed milk. These were beyond delicious, I want to go back and order these just for myself. The texture did not indicate gf, and the cinnamon churro flavoring was impressive. We have a res to go back soon but I also very much want to try their brunch soon!

1st time in San Francisco. My wife is gluten free. This means she calls the shots on what we can eat. I was amazed with the options that popped up for gluten free restaurants. We chose XICA! Amazing place. A nice twist on Mexican Classics, friendly fast service, and amazing bar menu! Don’t miss out on this amazing place. The plates are well served! Coming from an extensive restaurant background, I look for the servers carrying out the dishes from the kitchen. Everything looked delicious. Quesadillas, taquitos, street tacos, bowls and more. We had a little BOTANA… Elote wings, Asada fries and Asada Street tacos! All spot on! Salud… XICA!!!

Great food and service. Had the enchiladas and they were amazing. Using fresh masa tortillas, covered in red/ green sauce that was finger licking worthy. Also had the papa tacos, very great. They also had gluten-free options.

XICA, however, has a dedicated gluten-free kitchen, which means that I can order anything on the menu with confidence. I am so grateful to XICA for making it possible for my family to enjoy a delicious and authentic Mexican meal without having to worry about getting sick. XICA is also kid friendly.
