First time I haven't had to explain the difference between lactose intolerance and dairy protein allergy. He earned the big tip there... They were closing their kitchen but said no problem. Between us we ate everything on the meat list and it was all very good. The flavours are complex and exquisitely paired. It's as good as my favourite Michelin star restaurant back home. Each dish is a standalone thing, so I got a rice with some meat dishes figuring I'd be dipping between them but ate each separately. They called it japas, Japanese tapas, and it really is. I hear they do dance club style nights and the bad reviews seem to be of that. When we went it was midweek and quiet. We had a bunch of cocktails and the local Swedish coffee. All good. They didn't have sweetener for the coffee and I'm diabetic but honestly, I was on holiday and necking cocktails so hardly a medically responsible evening. The guy serving us was attentive but not overbearing and that's a tricky balance. So yeah, I might come back to this city just to eat here again.
