Had the best birria of my life here a couple of weeks ago and haven’t stopped thinking about it since. If I lived in Rochester, I’d go bankrupt visiting this place every day! Every bite was incredible. They start you off with chips and salsa. The chips came out still warm and absolutely perfect. Do yourself a favor and ask for a side of queso when you (inevitably) get your second basket of chips. The salsa was good but the queso was perfection. I ordered the birria mulitas and my girlfriend got the birria tacos. Both were absolutely delicious. We had already enjoyed way too many chips, but the meals were so good that we couldn’t help but eat them all, no matter how full we felt! The mulitas are technically a little more food and a dollar cheaper, so I would recommend going with that if you’re torn. I’m not personally much of a fan of refried beans, but I even enjoyed those with their rice and the cheese melted on top. The consome was a little spicy for my wimpy Swedish palate, but it definitely wasn’t uncomfortable or intolerable and the spice didn’t linger. Somehow we found the room to split a fried ice cream at the end of the meal. It was so yummy, but it did slide around the plate a lot which made it tricky to eat. Might be easier if they put it in a bowl. The restaurant itself is really beautifully decorated. The staff were all very kind and service was excellent. We were seated immediately when we walked in and never had to wait for refills. The food took a little longer than expected to be cooked, but it’s worth it for how great everything was. I can’t wait to go back!!
