The place is not prepared for gluten-free options or at least they have a somewhat distorted understanding of it. Waiters are unable to propose anything different from a salad (they recommended canederli...not gluten-free of course). Gluten-free pizza is available, but it’s not cooked in a separate oven: they justify this by saying the pizza is cooked in a high aluminum tray, totally ignoring the concept of cross-contamination. Even the meat is not safe as it is cooked on a contaminated grill. Adopted solution: a miserable steak cooked in a pan with salad...30 euros....

I ordered the gluten-free pizza and only found out afterward that it was baked in the same wood-fired oven but on a tray; I don't think there was much attention given to contamination. I ate with fear, but I have to say that I didn't feel sick 🎉🎉😂, the staff was kind and quick in service.

It's not a very well-equipped restaurant for gluten-free options, but they guarantee that the dishes without gluten are free from contamination. Better than nothing. The food is very good.

If you search on Google "Brunico gluten-free places" and this comes up, know it’s definitely a mistake. They don’t even know what gluten-free means. We call to book a table and rightly, since we have a celiac, we ask questions about it: zero preparation. "I’ll ask in the kitchen, hold on" then "yes, you can eat the meat and the pizza." We arrive and when we ask again what gluten-free options we have, we find total unpreparedness; they even suggest CANEDERLI, which are made with bread. "Can we have all the meat?" "Yes, it’s on the grill." We ask for ribs and they tell us that those have gluten since they are cooked in a sauce... "Cooked on the same grill as the rest of the meat?" We ask. The answer is obviously yes. At this point, they recommend we just order a pizza, as if we were being a nuisance with all these questions. So we ask if at least the pizza is baked in a separate oven and... of course not, it’s baked in the same oven but in a tray, how reassuring! I won’t give one star because we managed to settle for a steak in a pan and a salad that I still don’t trust, but in the end, we were left to our own devices waiting to ask for, I don’t know, a coffee. Oh, and steak in a pan + salad 28.50€ For others who are not celiac: Canederlo below average Good goulash Good smash burger, but in the end, it’s not smash, just a simple burger, even too rare, charged 3 euros extra.
