In Vietnam, it’s not easy to find gluten-free food, primarily because they don’t know what it is and therefore think that all their dishes are GF, while they actually have many contaminations, both from soy sauce and frying. Dingo Deli is run by a friendly Canadian owner who has traveled all over the world, so his place offers alternatives of all kinds, not just GF, but also vegetarian options. During our 4 days in Hoi An, we ate at Dingo Deli 3 times, which almost felt like an oasis in the desert. Of course, we have to forget about Italian standards, but despite that, we had an excellent homemade pizza with a homemade crust and not a store-bought base, delicious sandwiches made with great care for the ingredients (all sauces are GF), and to finish, inspired by the owner, I had a wonderful curry chicken accompanied by rice. Dingo Deli is not just a restaurant; in the front part, it also has a section dedicated to sales where you can buy GF pasta, Genovese pesto, Nutella, cheeses, and many other items for those nostalgic for the beautiful country… and not just that, as the place is frequented by many expats in what I consider the most beautiful city I visited in Vietnam.

A place without too many pretensions but it is a small oasis of salvation for those who are craving Western food and especially for celiac patients in Vietnam!
