I was in Siena today for the first time and my lunch at Osteria il Ghibellino will remain one of the most beautiful memories! I ate wonderfully. Location certified by Aic. Friendly and prepared staff. Many dishes available among starters, main courses, and even desserts, all gluten-free! A beautiful discovery was the Basque cake. Thank you for the wonderful experience.

We all absolutely love our meals here! One of our favorite in all of Italy! They also have gluten free options available 👍🏽 You won't regret eating here!

Spectacular pici! The cantucci were great too. I would go back!

Location of the AIC circuit just steps from the cathedral, welcoming atmosphere, fair prices, quality ingredients, attentive and friendly staff. Typical Siena cuisine, the entire menu also available gluten-free. My gastronomic experience was nothing short of spectacular; I felt like the happiest celiac in the world! I will definitely return!

Coeliac here -- a lot of the menu is gluten free here, but there's still a risk of cross contamination so keep that in mind. They brought some gluten free bread at the start -- it was warm, though was not freshly made. Crispy on the outside but dry inside. Recommend dousing with oil and salt. I had the sirloin steak with butter and thyme. It's a large amount of meat, with nothing else on the plate. I enjoyed the first 70% of it. I had some potatoes on the side which were nice, although I do feel they should have come with the steak. For dessert, I had the cheesecake with strawberry jam. This was light cream in a glass with some kind of fine nut crumble in the bottom and jam on top. Not a cheesecake in my book, but still nice. I also sampled the tiramisu, which was very light and creamy. We were late to lunch and this was the only place with gluten free options that I found open past 14.00. The pasta looked good and I do believe they can make them with gluten free pasta for a surcharge.

Kind staff. Excellent gluten-free products.
5
Exceptional place for its location and atmosphere. The staff is super kind and helpful. The pici with stracciata, tomato, and basil are something sublime.
5
We had lunch with "normal" and gluten-free dishes, everything perfect, gluten-free pici were delicious like the bread, highly recommended.
5
A gem in the heart of Siena, for those who are gluten-free but not only. A tranquil and welcoming environment, perfect for any occasion. Very helpful and friendly staff. Excellent food, the gluten-free pici were sensational and the malfatti truly amazing. Highly recommended!
5
excellent variety of gluten-free dishes, from appetizers to desserts, all very good and characteristic and worth trying, especially the typical second courses. well located and easy to reach on foot in the center of Siena. small venue, better to reserve. AIC certified.
5
Wide selection of gluten-free dishes, including the delicious poco senesi. Very good bread at the table. Attentive staff. Strategic location. Highly recommended!
5
Quality raw materials, friendly and knowledgeable staff, and a strategic location near Piazza del Campo. Tons of gluten-free options, including the famous Tuscan pici. Great value for money. Highly recommended!
5
Great tavern, tasty dishes and they have many gluten-free options. They have gluten-free pici, delicious... and the osso buco was wonderful, even the 'scarpetta' with the fresh gluten-free bread =^.^=

Strategic location and well-kept premises. Attentive and very courteous service. Great selection of gluten-free dishes from appetizers to desserts, Tuscan specialties. Food and wine of excellent quality. Highly recommended!

We went as a couple on May 1st. The restaurant was full, but we were welcomed and served in a truly elegant and polite manner. The professional staff was attentive without being intrusive. A special mention for the gluten-free section for celiacs and gluten intolerant individuals, who will find a wide selection of dishes here, from appetizers to first courses and main courses. Practically all desserts are also gluten-free. A true gluten-free paradise in the center of Siena. We will definitely return.
5
Excellent experience, fast and courteous service, friendly and kind staff. Delicious food, both gluten-free and regular. Arrived bread with and without gluten, excellent pici. Restaurant in the center, easy to reach. Highly recommend!

As a celiac, I was able to enjoy dishes from Tuscan tradition in a Gluten-Free version as well 🥳🥳🥳 Indecisive between maltagliati and pici, I ultimately opted for the latter, surprising myself with their texture - it was homemade pasta, very similar to the one with gluten. Good value for money: we spent €50 for 1 starter, 2 first courses, 0.5l of wine, and water. The only downside - the limited space between tables... but I imagine that given the quality of the food and the Gluten-Free offer (the restaurant has the AIC gluten-free certification), demand is high!
5
A godsend for celiacs! I was incredulous when I saw the menu and couldn't believe that many of the first courses were gluten-free, as well as almost all of the desserts. Additionally, the quality of the bread was excellent; we will definitely be back.
5
everything very good, wide selection gluten-free
4
a very nice place is on the AIC route but contamination cannot be ruled out, good dishes
5
Charming place, very good typical dishes, a must-stop.
4
Gluten-free pici that are truly spectacular! Great attention and maximum availability from the staff! I also found fresh gluten-free bread, perfect for making the "scarpetta" 😋
4
I have been here for dinner several times, safely. The gnudi are excellent. A must-try.
5
What to say... in a week I've already been there for dinner twice. Great dishes for celiacs from appetizers to desserts. Friendly and attentive staff. I will definitely return... I need to try the entire gluten-free menu 😊
5
Superb gluten-free pici!
5
they are really great and the food is delicious 😊
5
Typical Tuscan osteria 150 meters from Piazza del Campo with a completely gluten-free menu. Helpful and very kind staff, excellent food, and a fresh location perfect for a summer lunch. The menu also features exceptional gluten-free fresh pici!
5
Great choice of dishes from appetizers to desserts and handmade fresh pasta. Maximum attention and kindness! Recommended!
4
Even though it's in the city center, this tavern serves good food without pressure. The pici are excellent, the traditional dishes are good, the selection of cheeses is great, and they pay attention to gluten-free options with a clear menu and generous portions. The service is very kind. They recommended a dessert, the Wilma, which isn’t available in the summer or at least not during this time: we will return. Prices are in line with the location.
5
A lovely place in the center of Siena. From appetizers to dessert, gluten-free options are available, including pici.
5
Osteria in the heart of Siena just steps from Piazza del Campo, where excellent Tuscan cuisine is practiced with dishes of fresh homemade pasta and prime quality meats. Don't miss the legendary osso buco and zucchini flowers... all accompanied by excellent wines from the Tuscan hills, in a well-kept environment by the owners at truly exceptional price/quality! Great also for gluten-free!
1
Very few options, not even very good ones.
4
Osteria absolutely to try! Many gluten-free options, top quality. Recommended are the Pici with lampredotto and black cabbage, those with carbonara are absolutely top.
3
We ate very well, good meat, tasty sauces. Small but welcoming place. (A bit close together - considering Covid) Only note, I had read here that gluten-free pici were also available, instead they only have plain spaghetti, good but not pici. (Excellent sauce) Too bad, we practically went there for that.
5
I recommend the osteria il Ghibellino for eating typical Tuscan dishes. The menu indicates allergens and guarantees dishes suitable for coeliacs (it is part of the AIC circuit). The prices are honest. In the photo, the first dish I chose: pici with cacio e pepe.
5
complete gluten-free menu! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED if you pass through Siena!
5
Small but welcoming. Many gluten-free options. Allergens are indicated on the menu. Reasonable prices and more than fair for the portions and quality of food. Excellent wine.
3
Excellent appetizers of Sienese cold cuts and local cheeses. The onion compote is surprising. Fried items are dry and crunchy. First courses, even gluten-free, are truly good. The Fiorentina steak... well, prepare your stomach, the portions are very generous, the weight a challenge. A small note of reproach: you must make gluten-free fried brain possible. The location is charming. We'll return for gluten-free fried brain ;-).
5
Osteria right near Piazza del Campo. Very kind staff. Gluten-free pasta cacio e pepe and fantastic osso buco alla senese. Sublime fried brain. Perfect value for money.
5
Small but very nice place... Excellent food!!! Great gluten-free dishes and a wide selection. Very kind and knowledgeable staff. I highly recommend it!
5
Excellent typical cuisine just a stone's throw from Piazza del Campo. They are very knowledgeable about gluten-free options and there are several dishes on the menu that can be safely tasted. Absolutely fair prices.

Wonderful restaurant, although very small. If you don't want to stay hungry, it's advisable to book about two hours in advance. It is located in an alley behind the Duomo of Siena. The menu is very varied and delicious, with options for celiacs as well. I highly recommend the pici, a typical Tuscan pasta, very good, especially the farmer's style, and the osso buco. And of course, you cannot miss the dessert, with a delicious slice of cheesecake with Nutella. The price is reasonable for the quality of the food, about 50-55 euros per person.
1
Very limited offer for gluten-free. The menu posted outside the restaurant does not match the one given inside. From the outside, it seems that there is a wide selection of gluten-free dishes. The pici pasta with carbonara, however, is good.
4
Characteristic and well-kept locale just steps from Piazza del Campo. Quality typical dishes, with average prices. The menu clearly highlights dishes for various intolerances, but unfortunately it also states that dishes for intolerances are obviously free of the specific allergens, yet it cannot guarantee the absence of contamination in the kitchen. Let's say reading such a sentence doesn’t instill much confidence; furthermore, being part of the AFC circuit of AIC, I believe it's almost borderline... I hope that in a future revision of the menu, this phrase will be removed.

A few steps from Piazza del Campo, even less from the Duomo, the osteria stands out among the many, too many tourist offerings - fake typical places that fill the historic center of the wonderful Siena. The environment is very well maintained, not large but comfortable and cozy. We were two adults and a little girl on August 19th. They have various fresh gluten-free options as well. It was all full, and they told us to come back after half an hour, and promptly the table was ready. The staff who take care of the tables are very courteous and polite, without being either fake buddies or cold and detached. We ordered three first courses. Gluten-free malfatti with ricotta and spinach, gratinated with sun-dried tomatoes; legendary Pici Cacio e pepe, and tagliatelle with white ragù made to perfection. You could taste the quality and tradition. Too good and perhaps... too few! 😊 We suggest and recommend, if you want a real osteria, with quality and exceptional service.

Welcoming locale with friendly and prepared staff. The dishes are well-crafted and the portions are abundant, also paying attention to intolerances (if I'm not mistaken, they have AIC certification to prepare gluten-free dishes). We had the ossobuco alla senese and the pici cacio e pepe. Everything was excellent, with fair prices, considering the central location of the restaurant. Recommended!
