Best food I had in Osaka hands down! It is fully gluten free and offers such a variety. I ate here multiple items and will miss it when I leave! The sandwich sets are a MUST

If you're someone with a Gluten Allergy and have missed the texture and taste of real bread, Comeconoco Gluten-free Laboratory & Cafe is one of the best sando's you can get. Comeconoco's was my wife's favorite place during our month-long stay, and the only one she enjoyed so much she went back again on her own. The quality of the food, especially the bread, brought her back to a time when she could enjoy it without fear that it would kill her stomach. We went for lunch both times, and our meals included several sides and a snack (details below). It's a well-rounded meal with portions that are filling but not so much that you can't move when you finish. I really appreciated this place because my wife struggled to find restaurant-quality food or experiences with her allergy, unlike what I could find in Japan. At Comeconoco's, she was able to have a normal, high-quality lunch with lots of choices, snacks she could purchase to go, and at a price that didn't take advantage of her allergy. Along with snacks/treats you can buy à la carte, they also offer bread, GF flour, pasta, and even cooking classes! If we were in Osaka for another week and if the language barrier wasn't an issue, my wife would have signed up for a class. She really wanted to know how they got their GF bread to be so good and fluffy. I can't say enough nice things about this place. It's a touch more expensive than non-gluten-free places, but it's not taking advantage of you, and for what you get, it feels like a solid deal. It's not just a convenience sandwich shop; it's a full lunch. The food is also delicious for those of us without a gluten allergy. (Some other details) They offer these lunch meals, featuring an amazingly fluffy gluten-free egg sando (along with other sandwiches), soup, salad, macaroni, and something sweet, all for 1000-2000 yen, depending on your selection. Lots of à la carte sandwiches, sweets, and loaves of bread for both dine-in and take-out, but the bread here and the quality of sandwiches are amazing! Locals use this location for GF ingredients, so it's not just for tourist. Parties 2-4 should have an okay time getting in, but smaller parties can get in/out fast. You may be asked to move a seat over to fill an empty space when it gets busy. English only is fine, but be patient.

Got a takeaway carrot cake today, gluten-free and dairy-free. It was so delicious! Tasted just like I remember; it's been years and years since I could eat carrot cake. Wish I'd bought 2! Beautifully presented too. Packed an ice pack in the box for the ~30 minute walk home. Friendly & knowledgeable staff. (~1pm, cafe full with people waiting for a table)

Excellent cafe. The gluten free egg sandwich set was delicious, and so was the carrot cake. We also did the cooking class with them which was fantastic. We arranged this through messaging their Instagram account. Would absolutely recommend both.
