We were at La Babbiona in Civitavecchia and it was truly a wonderful experience! The owner, known as La Babbiona, and her husband welcomed us with a rare kindness and availability: despite arriving at 10:15 PM, slightly late, they waited for us without any problem and made us feel at home. The dishes were delicious, well-prepared, and with generous portions. A great added value: they offer gluten-free options certified by AIC, a guarantee of safety and quality for those, like us, who need special care. The price was very honest, especially considering the quality and family atmosphere. After dinner, we stayed to chat with the owners, who are wonderful, genuine people passionate about their work. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to eat well, feel pampered, and experience an authentic moment in Civitavecchia. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

We left Rome after seeing the positive reviews... unfortunately not entirely truthful.... we ordered two seafood platters... they arrived after about half an hour.... 10 mussels in total (we counted them... 5 each) cicoria (chicory) sautéed with baby squid (it was drowning in oil and you needed a magnifying glass to spot the squids they were so small) Prawns and arugula (5 in total dressed with a lot of black pepper and overly salty) We then ordered 2 pasta dishes one gluten-free and one regular.... generous portions and good overall.... the fried food would have been good if it had been breaded with fine corn flour instead of that for making polenta..... the owners were nice overall but this platter of appetizers ruined everything.... it's inconceivable to pay 30 euros to eat 10 mussels....

We had lunch on Sunday, and I must say that I found a family atmosphere; the owners are very accommodating, friendly, and knowledgeable. The kitchen prepares dishes on the spot, so the wait times are longer, but the wait is well worth it. I ate gluten-free crab pasta, which was amazing, as well as a trio of appetizers, all paired with an excellent white wine. I recommend it.

We were in Civitavecchia to catch the ship, we arrived very early so we decided to have lunch, but as a celiac it's not simple, so my daughter started looking for places and chose this one because it is AIC certified and also for the typicality of the dishes! I can tell you that for me, unfortunately used to giving up many things, here I felt "normal", with the possibility of choosing and tasting many typical dishes! The owners are fantastic, they make you feel among friends, we talk about everything as if we have known each other forever! Then the food is superlative, the gluten-free options are top!💯💯💯💯. So if you find yourself in Civitavecchia, I highly recommend "OSTARIA LA BABBIONA"! GLUTEN-FREE and not!

We stopped for a quick lunch before taking the ferry, thanks to the strategic location of the place in relation to the port. The owners made us feel welcomed by keeping us company the whole time. We had bucatini all'amatriciana, calamari with chicory, and a mixed fry of squid and shrimp. Everything was delicious, and my wife was also very happy to enjoy the same dishes gluten-free. If we pass through Civitavecchia again, we won't have any doubts about where to stop for a meal.
