Not all ice cream flavors are gluten-free. The girl who served us used a clean scoop and took the ice cream from an untouched spot, not from the surface. I had called before going to the ice cream shop for information, but they still stated that there is a potential risk of contamination since they also have cookies and cakes with gluten in their lab. My daughter (celiac) did not get sick.
