Such a unique gem in Chicago! Haven’t had authentic Peruvian cuisine since I went to Peru and let me just say this lives up to the authentic cuisine! I have celiac and they were very knowledgeable. I got a ceviche and the broccolini and they were both beyond spectacular

First visit. Seated inside downstairs. We ordered 3 dishes. (1) Tiraditos Trio is a trio of tuna, salmon and white fish sashimi sitting in their respective sauces. Not sure what i expected, but the fish was fresh. Love the tuna. The white fish in parm cheese sauce felt a little heavy, but the flavor did grow on me. Don't think I would order the trio again. (2) The Empanadas Trio - suprisingly the vegitable (de tamalito) was my favorite. It had so much flavor ( which i was not expecting as a carnivore). All three were tasty, don't get thrown off with the raisin as an ingredient in the beef empanada. It adds a little sweetness and not overpowering. A little taste of each for a first visit was exactly what i was looking for. I need to add the empanadas shell was perfectly delicious. So glad they offered the option for a trio. I would definately order again. (3) Last, we had the very popular Chaufa Aeropuerto (wok main dish), it might not be recognizable in the attached picture because instead of a black stone pot it was served in a porcelin bowl. Presentation definately makes the dish. Expecting one thing and getting another was a real let down, especially when i saw that the tables around us were served the same exact dish in the black stone pot. Its pork fried rice with a shrimp omlete on top. The shrimp omlete was very well made. (4) Drinks were great. (5) Best thing about the meal was the hot sauce. Its HOT with a slow burn and great flavor. A side note, the food was better than good (quality and cook). It probably warrented a 3.5, but the presentation of the rice dish was such a let down that it made it an average type dish, giving this dining experience an overall 3.
