Firstly the food is delicious, and the staff are lovely. I'm gluten and dairy free and was able to eat here twice so far safely. They pointed out which dishes were gluten free and also checked the raw ingredients to make sure it was okay. They have labels onto their menu to help identify safe gf and vegan dishes. I react to cross contamination and haven't reacted here. If you like gluten free beer they have it plus loads of sake, plum wine and other local favourites and will show you how to drink it. Fully recommend if you're in Akakura Onsen.
