Small gluten-free lab of the historic pastry shop Carmignani in Avezzano. A surprising discovery. I came to visit my boyfriend who works in Abruzzo and thought I wouldn't find any store that offered gluten-free options. I was surprisingly proven wrong. Even though it's small, it has a wide variety of sweet and savory items, pastries, brioche, bread, pizzas and focaccias, dry cookies, and breadsticks. I ordered 3 brioche for breakfast with 3 different fillings, all gluten-free and lactose-free. Super light, flaky, and delicious. I would have never guessed they were gluten-free. One of the best places I've ever been. I just wish they were all like this.

Gluten-free dedicated laboratory of a pastry shop located across the street. Limited selection but definitely of excellent quality. Croissant and small pastries are delicious. A must-try.

I give a star to the barista because it's not the first time they take the order in an annoyed manner, and if you ask for gluten-free, they huff in your face. Anyway, the pastries are excellent.

A sweet memory, that's all that remains for me from when I was little and my mother used to take me here for a snack. The misadventure begins on Saturday. I stop by to ask for gluten-free products for the next day and the waitress assures me that a reservation wouldn't be necessary if we arrive at 9 in the morning. So far, so good; we say goodbye and leave. On Sunday morning at 9 sharp, we are in the little gluten-free shop where, first thing, the man behind the counter asks us, "But didn't you make a reservation?"... We explain what we were told, and he, very accommodating, manages to satisfy us. We then stop at the main establishment for breakfast, we enter, order, and settle outside in the dehor. After 2 minutes, we go back inside because it's still too cold and bump into the waitress who was coming out with the tray (the same one from the unnecessary reservation). We ask her to stay inside, apologizing for the change of mind, I hold the door for her to help with the tray, and she huffs at us... We start consuming breakfast, and after a few minutes, the other waitress swings open the entrance door (did I mention we went back in because of the cold?). To top it off, she starts smoking right at the entrance and, as can be seen from the photo, when a customer enters, he is served with a cigarette in hand. In the end, feeling cold, we pay and leave. Finally, I said goodbye with a see you again, which was a mistake. Oh, sorry, I almost forgot that this was supposed to also be a review of the consumed products. We had a croissant, a cream-filled bomb, and a doughnut. Average. A piece of advice to the owners: carefully select and train the staff; it’s not enough for them to call everyone "dear."
