I found it by chance. Right from the outside, the bar has a sign that says "Gluten-Free: piadine, focacce, desserts, etc." and indeed, once inside, they confirmed all of this. The piadina is delicious and so are the desserts! Everything is good.

For a quick gluten-free lunch guaranteed AIC (separate kitchen). Sandwiches, focaccias, piadinas, toasts, salads... and some hot/cold dishes but, above all, a family atmosphere and great courtesy.. Absolutely recommended

What happened at Bar Diaz in Como is unbelievable, and unfortunately it once again proves how celiac disease is often trivialized even in contexts where, on the contrary, one would expect professionalism and preparation. The establishment is marked as affiliated with AIC (Italian Celiac Association). A sign that should represent a safe harbor for those, like my 3-year-old daughter, who has diagnosed celiac disease. On Saturday evening, while strolling through Como, we stopped at Bar Diaz precisely because it was among those recommended for its gluten-free offerings. But to our very simple request – "Do you have something for a celiac child?" – the response was disarming: "I’m sorry, today I can’t help you. The person who takes care of gluten-free preparations is out for a course." End of story. No alternative. No attempt. No empathy. An AIC-accredited establishment, displaying the quality mark for gluten-free dining, promoting itself as a safe place for celiacs, is unable to guarantee minimum service if just one member of staff is missing. But what does this mean? That the entire service for celiac customers depends on a single individual? And meanwhile, the establishment continues to welcome people, serve coffee, desserts, dishes… as if nothing happened. All this in front of the eyes of a 3-year-old girl, who cannot understand the "internal organization" or "shift management" — she only sees that once again, because of her condition, she is denied something that is given to others. There wasn’t even an attempt at empathetic explanation, or to propose something safe and packaged, a cookie, a snack, nothing. Just a cold "we can’t do anything," as if the problem were ours. But it isn’t: the problem is theirs. Because being an AIC establishment is not just a commercial advantage. It is a responsibility. It means guaranteeing continuity, training, alternatives, hospitality. Always. Not just when “the person who takes care of it” is present. In summary: Displaying an AIC mark and then being unable to serve a celiac child is severely inconsistent. Fully delegating the management of gluten-free offerings to a single person is poorly organized and dangerous. Responding without attempting solutions, in such a delicate context, is unacceptable. I am very sorry because an owner with a wife and celiac children should not allow this. Those who know celiac disease intimately should be the first to ensure attentive, continuous, and dignified service.

A reference point for gluten-free options in Como with AIC certification. Excellent sandwiches, flatbreads, and tarts. The gluten-free menu is very varied, and it should be noted the great attention paid (dedicated kitchen and room). Moreover, I believe it is one of the few bars that still offers coffee for 1 euro. Friendly staff and fast service, even for those with little time during lunch breaks. Highly recommended!!

Great bar for breakfast or a quick lunch (the piadine and sandwiches are really excellent!). Recently, they have also set up a kitchen area dedicated to gluten-free food with high-quality products. All of this is made even more enjoyable by the always kind and very helpful staff.

I visited Bar Diaz after seeing that it has recently received the AIC certification. They offer very good gluten-free piadine and sandwiches, with the possibility of choosing from all the options on the regular menu. The staff is very attentive, kind, and knowledgeable, and the gluten-free food is prepared in a separate kitchen.
