Great restaurant very attentive to cross-contamination. They have both gluten-free tagliatelle and gnocchi with the toppings included in the menu. The fried dishes are delicious, and since they use rice flour for the batter, they have no contamination. The same fryer is not contaminated, so you can also eat the fries. Bread is well sealed and brought to the table, so there's maximum attention even on that.

My partner and I booked here one evening during our stay on the island of Elba in June 2023. I must say that we do not know what the place is like inside as we dined on the covered terrace with a sea view, which was very nice. The staff was kind, but not professional or prepared at all. The service was clumsy and bordering on ridiculous. We ordered two plates of linguine allo scoglio, the pasta was overcooked, and the fish was visibly frozen (something incomprehensible to me as Rio Marina is by the sea and Elba offers a great variety of fresh fish everywhere). Everything was overly salty, swimming in the sauce. The bottle of wine we ordered was not available, so we relied on the waitress. The wine was good. The fried food was overly salty and overcooked, we had to leave it as it was inedible. We finished with two terrible coffees, but they had nothing more to ruin of the dinner just ended. The bill arrived, if possible, more expensive than the dishes listed above. A real disaster. I never write negative reviews, but that dinner ruined the rest of the evening and it annoyed us that no one bothered to ask what the problem was, even though we hadn’t eaten anything. I do not recommend.

We booked for this evening for 4, 2 adults and 2 kids. We have been coming to Elba for years and dining at this place which has always been excellent. After half an hour, they served one of the kids fried mixed seafood and after another half hour, after we asked for the bill to leave, they brought everything else. My baked fish was swimming in oil. The lobster ravioli were, however, good and plentiful. Poor service, rude staff. We were not the only ones complaining tonight, but the staff was really rude to everyone. I'm sorry because it has always been one of our favorite places but I think we won't be coming back anymore.

The waiter comes with: you cannot order more than 2 different first courses, and there is only one cook with 4 burners. I don’t think it’s a problem of the customers. Pre-cooked spaghetti with clams that were overcooked and in olive oil, clams in abundance but zero flavor, a couple of tomatoes roughly chopped and that’s it. Crunchy fried food but soaked in oil and rubbery, frozen product not suitable for frying (there are better ones available). Grilled squid and prawns, the squid looked like a griddled Tango ball, at least the prawns should be cleaned from the intestine; it’s a shame because with a little more care they could do much better. I give one star just to express my personal judgment.

Lunch based on fish, mixed seafood appetizer, spaghetti with seafood, mixed fried fish, Vermentino wine, and coffee. Everything was very good, the price was a bit high but adequate for the portions and quality of the food. I didn't give 5 stars to the environment because it lacks private car parking and it's now difficult to find parking nearby.

Today, the spaghetti with clams I enjoyed was simply divine, a triumph of flavors that tell the passion and love for the cuisine of this special place. Il Grigolo is not just a simple restaurant; it is a place for the soul where one feels at home, pampered by a unique atmosphere and by people who do their job with heart. Outdoor tables where you can enjoy the view of the marina at Rio Marina, truly very characteristic! I found good products and a good selection of local wines, which I believe is a small added value. The presentation of the dishes is a bit retro, but who cares? We ate well. The service is quick and the staff is quite attentive. A small downside is that the road passes next to the tables and there is a bit of noise, but thankfully it is not very busy. Prices are average for the island.

The location is nice and overlooks the port, too bad we saw the Toremar and not the horizon of the sea 😅 The guys who served us were really kind and courteous, in addition to being good-looking. The menu is simple to understand. We ate very well and the price was fair. The marinated mussels were really good 😋 Congratulations to all the staff. A must-try.
