First negative review I've ever left in my life, because I prefer to build my judgment over time and not on a single episode, since we can all make mistakes. In this case, for our gluten-free needs and the purpose of this application, it is necessary, given that the only reason that drove my girlfriend and me to stop here and not elsewhere was the menu displayed outside that explicitly stated: "Gluten-free dishes," with some choices. While we were reading it, the waitress added: "We also make gluten-free pizza, pasta, etc..." It's around 9 PM; we are tired and happy after a nice day, but still two hours away from home through dark winding roads. We haven't found other gluten-free places around, so having read the menu and heard the waitress, we felt safe and sat down. Details of a restaurant where you wouldn’t want to stop began to leak out, enough to grasp the situation, but I won't dwell on those as, in that context, it was more important just to eat... also because I didn't expect such realities to exist. I order a gluten-free pizza and my partner orders a pizza. First, the drinks arrive, only later does the waitress come back and literally says (and this needs to be quoted): "Unfortunately, we have run out of gluten-free pizza dough. We have gluten-free veal roast with potatoes and pasta with meat sauce." This fully betrays the promise of the pizza, and oh well... but it is not correct that there wasn’t any gluten-free dish among those displayed right in that same menu that was decisive for choosing the place. Anyway, we want to hit the road quickly and only eat first, so I was wrong not to leave, I adapt, and I choose the roast, even though I wouldn’t have wanted to eat it anywhere. The dishes arrive: the roast looks really low-quality, and the pizza is unattractive, reportedly unappetizing, but most importantly... frozen! (But what about the dough story? 🤔). We decide not to consume anything else. The bill: 2 Cover charges 2 Coca Zero 1 Natural water 1.5 liters (Norda, plastic) 1 Frozen pizza 1 veal roast with a few new potatoes, €34. The girl at the counter asks: "Was the pizza okay?"... Now I think: "But come on, don't you know? Can't you see? Would you eat at a restaurant the same dishes that were served to us?". We don’t make any complaints (and I was wrong not to), we decide to leave and wrap this situation up as quickly as possible. The disappointment and bitterness remain, especially when in the car I feel my stomach gurgling, seeming to ask me, "Excuse me, what did I do wrong?") and the vivid image of that roast keeps reappearing before my eyes. The gelato might be better, the other dishes might be better, the staff might have been nice, as they seemed to try to cover with embarrassment through smiles and kindness the evident flaws for everyone... but I will not return. It is unacceptable. Now I perhaps understand why the restaurant across the street emphasizes in bold letters that they don’t use frozen gnocchi or pizza.
