Momofuku Noodle Bar Uptown is a lively and very popular spot, known for the deliciousness of its dishes. Although the atmosphere can be lively due to the high turnout, the staff is always friendly and helpful. The menu options, while not all adaptable to specific needs, still offer tasty alternatives, such as the popular chicken appetizers.

Food was decent, but I've never been to a ramen place before that didn't have rice noodles, I'm gluten free / gluten sensitive and can usually get ramen just fine, they have a rice bowl option but wouldn't just let me do a sub so it was going to be like double price. I ended up getting the chicken wings starter and it was pretty tasty and actually a decent amount of food though

The food here is delicious, and the line out the door confirms it. I've been here a few times now, and even with a reservation, there is always a literal crowd outside at the door waiting for their table. We were sat about 5-10 minutes later than our reservation time (8pm, party of 2), and I was thrilled to get a table rather than the bar which was on our reservation (though we weren't asked if this is okay with us). Atmosphere: The table we were sat at was near the door, and most of the time we were here, we had a large number of people sitting or standing around us waiting to be sat. This intense number of people standing around took away from the atmosphere and is largely why I rated atmosphere 3/5 stars. It was just generally overcrowded feeling and loud inside. Still, I was much happier to have a table facing my friend rather than sat side by side at the bar, so that worked out for us. Service: The overcrowding led to another issue. Our server was very sweet, and I don't blame them at all for this, but service was inattentive and frantic. This was 100% due to the overbooked nature of the restaurant. They need to have more servers to guests, and they probably need to offer a few less seating reservations to reduce the waiting mob. All of our food came out correctly as ordered, save for one minor miscommunication that resulted in an extra dish (which we definitely didn't need, but it was genuinely delicious, so I'm really not upset about that). I really want to stress here that the 3/5 service rating is 100% the fault of management choices leading to overwhelmed server staff making the most of a very difficult situation. All of the staff we interacted with were very sweet and as attentive as I think they reasonably could be expected to be. That said, we were rarely checked on after our plates had dropped, and it took some time to get someone's attention in order to get our check. Food: Now that I've gotten all that negative stuff out of the way, let's talk about the food. Literally everything we ordered was delicious (and we ordered nearly the entire menu). You can't go wrong with anything they offer, and the hard part is deciding what to have, which I totally gave up on and kid you not, I told the server which starters we weren't having rather than the ones we were at first because I thought that was easier (but then I listed through what we did want anyway). I've included photos of everything, and the presentation was great too. As every plate dropped, I drooled a little more, and my taste buds were not disappointed. I think probably a normal amount of food would be 2-3 starters, and a main or ramen each for 2 people, but I have no regrets for my gluttony, I didn't it for the review. Just kidding; I did it because I've been here before, and couldn't decide what to get because everything is just so yummy. The habanero rice cakes were my favorite dish. Definitely come eat here. Make a reservation, and be on time so you dont lose your slot! The food and friendly staff make the noisy frantic atmosphere worth it. I will come here again.
