Maybe the best meal I had in Japan and I’ve had some really fabulous things… everything was so flavorful and made with such care, right in front of you in their gorgeous kitchen. As someone with Celiac, amazing to be able to pick anything off of the menu - such a variety of dishes. They have a little 🌾 emoji on the menu for anything that contains gluten. 99% gluten free, amazing soba, amazing tempura, amazing appetizers. A meal that I will be thinking about for a very long time, so special.

I have been with my boyfriend to Asakusa Sarashina Tenko twice, during our stay in Tokyo. The restaurant has an entire gluten free menu (quite hard to find in Japan) which was great to me as I have celiac disease. We have tried several dishes à la carte, from the sobas in hot soup to the desserts and everything was amazing. The ingredients used are top quality and the flavours are very interesting too. It definitely was not only the best restaurant during our trip in Japan but also the best restaurant we have been to in a long time. The atmosphere is really cool too - we sat at the chef’s table, and it was nice to exchange a few words with the Chef. We will surely be back next time in Tokyo and recommend to all our Italian friends!

Everything about this place from start to finish was absolutely wonderful. The staff was so kind and considerate, offering recommendations and being very warm in their demeanor. The atmosphere was so welcoming and the shop was very comfortable. And this is not even to mention the food, which was absolutely divine! The appetizer was delicious and the main course I got (salted ginger okame soba) was amazing. It was all so good I made a reservation for the next night! This time I arrived right at opening (5pm), hoping to get a seat (I’m a solo traveler so I took the risk), but I wanted to be sure to get in without any worries the next night since the restaurant is smaller. I have celiac disease, so the fact that this place boasts a totally gluten free menu was a huge plus! 10/10 would recommend! I did not take a photo at the start, but please see a photo of my dish devoured. Edit: second trip was also fantastic, and I again forgot to take a before photo🤦♀️I cannot recommend this place enough. Thank you so much! (Also please disregard the negative reviews discussing an appetizer they didn’t order…it is a part of Japanese restaurant culture to present a small, mandatory appetizer (otoshi), kind of like a cover charge, and not a flaw of the restaurant. Anyways, the otoshi here was also delicious and worth it!)

Wow, what a wonderful dinner experience! I highly recommend making a reservation and treating yourself to a magical dinner experience! Chef and the team worked seamlessly together in a well orchestrated dinner service. I enjoyed new dishes and new ways familiar dishes were served that I had never had before - the soy sauce mousse was a standout with the sliced rare beef 🤤 Service was warm and wonderful, the suggestion of the sake and fruit sake were a perfect pairing. The soba followed by the hot broth was so comforting! Everything was well thought out from beginning to end. The chef was the maestro to a perfect orchestrated symphony of dishes and flavors! Bravo to the chef and team! Chef is also not bad to look at 🥰😏 Oh and did I mention everything we had was gluten free?!?! Treat yourself and make a reservation now!
