This restaurant is an absolute gem of a find for anyone who is coeliac and visiting Lisbon. Food is fabulous, and the staff were knowledgable and very friendly. And for those Celiacs lucky enough to also have an egg allergy, there are great options for you! (Because sometimes being celiac is not challenging enough :-( )

We chose to eat at this restaurant because it is part of the APC circuit (Portuguese Association for Celiac Disease). We were not disappointed; in fact, everything was above our expectations. The waiters were well-prepared, kind, and very knowledgeable in English (I emphasize this since I read some comments stating otherwise). The floor staff proved to be very competent and attentive to the customer. The dishes we had (ratatouille, pork, and bacalhau) were excellent. A lovely atmosphere made us feel pampered; I definitely recommend it! Prices are average for a restaurant of this quality.

We chose this place for the presence of a gluten-free menu (they have certification). High-end restaurant, just like the service and food. Great attention to the customer. One of the best restaurants we've tried in Lisbon. Absolutely recommended for experiencing high-level cuisine (above average compared to everyday life).

"Open Brasserie" is a modern yet refined restaurant that is part of the ACP circuit (the Association of Portuguese Celiacs) located within the "Inspira Liberdade Boutique Hotel," a 4-star hotel near Santa Marta Hospital. In addition to gluten-free options, their rich and varied menu also offers vegan/vegetarian and lactose-free alternatives. The restaurant features typical dishes from Mediterranean and Portuguese cuisine, made with high-quality ingredients, which are presented with great attention to detail and pairings. I went there with my family for lunch, and despite the kitchen about to close when we arrived, the staff, very kind and attentive, welcomed us and seated us in the bar area. We left very satisfied from that place. I recommend trying their octopus carpaccio.. Very good. The prices are in line with the quality of the dishes offered.

I had dinner at open and loved it. I was the first one at opening, so I got to choose my table. The waiter was so attentive and friendly. He asked if I had any allergies and was very helpful with them. I got gluten free bread wrapped and the oil was delicious. The tuna was good and the veggies were delicious. I caved and got dessert and it was delicious! A bit rich for me toward the end, but still delicious. I can’t believe it was dairy free!

Really delicious food, and they're able to safely cater for coeliacs, they even have individually wrapped gluten free bread rolls to start with. Our only issue is that we orders cocktails to have before our meal, but they didn't arrive until we finished our starters. We then ordered a bottle of wine, which didn't arrive until half way through our mains. However the staff were really nice and apologetic, so it didn't really affect our experience

My husband and I visited this restaurant after researching gluten-free food in Lisbon, since I have celiac disease. The lunch menu changes, so there are different options depending on the time of your visit. I had looked forward to risotto, but it was unavailable GF, so I had chicken and rice with vegetables. My husband had the risotto. My chicken was good, but the rice and vegetables were completely unseasoned. My husband said his risotto actually had hard, uncooked grains of rice and also lacked flavor. The Greek salad was delicious and the star of the meal, but it is easily duplicated anywhere. How sad that such a nice restaurant that chooses to offer allergy free meals doesn't really hit the mark. I honestly felt it was a real letdown.

I was so excited to find this restaurant that had so many gluten free offerings, good reviews and nice photos online. However, the experience was extremely disappointing. We came at 8:30pm on a Sunday and the restaurant was nearly empty. The decor was nice but the overall atmosphere leaves much to be desired. Upon receiving the menu, I was surprised to find not everything on the menu is gluten free. There are many gluten free options but this is not an exclusively gluten free restaurant, which is very misleading based on the name "Open Brasserie Gluten Free." Our server asked us if we had any allergies, which I appreciated. She brought gluten free bread, which came individually wrapped in plastic and was pretty good. Next, she brought each of us a complimentary small plate of potato salad, which was honestly the highlight of the meal. Then our appetizer of ratatouille arrived, which had very little flavor, was sliced too thick and was undercooked. It was pretty clear we did not like it from how little of it we ate, but the servers did not acknowledge that or asked if we liked it. They seemed to really not care. For an entree, I had the grilled tuna. On the menu, it was listed to come with potatoes and vegetables. There were two tiny potatoes. The tuna was extremely overcooked. It looked like a beef steak. It looked like it might have been a nice slice of tuna but was absolutely ruined by being fully cooked all the way through. If I knew it came well done, I would have asked for it rare, which is the standard and expectation for tuna. Overall, this experience was extremely disappointing. It was also the most expensive meal we've had so far in Lisbon and was absolutely not worth the price. There are many other restaurants that have better, and far cheaper gluten free options. My recommendation: go elsewhere

Very high cost for a subpar product, a lot of show but the taste leaves much to be desired. The waiters cannot speak a word of English nor are they informed about gluten-free options. Not recommended.
