The place is not very nice, the arancina was very large but I've had better ones. Moreover, they got the flavor wrong. I wanted to try the cazzillo but they didn't serve it for lunch, what a pity.

The environment wasn't the best, but I was happy to eat a nice arancina. Everything was under control.

Invitation to stop by NAS

A priori, no use of wheat in cooking, no allergic reaction after consumption. However, poor value for money: expensive for a place whose product quality is equivalent to that of a street vendor.
3
Upon entering, the place does not inspire much trust, but arriving at 3 PM after a long journey, hunger made me trust it. The arancini are really large, but they are mostly rice; there is little seasoning, and some flavors are not well blended together. Too expensive for being simple arancini.

Delicious freshly prepared gluten free arancini! Enormous size!! Highly recommend. Fantastic that they also cater to lactose intolerance & vegans!

Oh My Goodness! Gluten free arancini! I had the prosciutto and cheese as well as the potato and cheese appetizer. Both were spectacular! My vino rosso was good. Staff is so friendly and helpful. It's close to the market and the best geleteria in the area. Give them a try, you won't be sorry. Outdoor seating that's covered. Oh, and they have the typical Italian sense of humor, see second photo!

If you are celiac and crave arancina, this is the right place! Just be careful with the portions because each arancina weighs almost 400 grams and you might overdo it. Friendly staff and outdoor seating available. Vegetarian options are also available.

We had some excellent gluten-free Arancini. The menu is completely gluten-free, and they also treated us to a wonderful Limoncello Spritz. Delicious fast food with the authentic flavor of the region.

We stumbled upon this by accident and My husband had the carbonara arancino at the recommendation of the owner. It was awesome. It was massive so we shared it. We’ve been eaten standard gluten arancini elsewhere this week and thought we’d try a gluten free one as we have both been severely gluten intolerant in the past. This place is 100% gluten free and the quality does not suffer because of it! Very good stuff 👍 We loved it! So yummy. It took a little while to make (10 minutes) so we were invited to sit while we waited on the chairs in the street - it’s in a cute spot next to a market.

Very good arancina and well stuffed; among all the arancine I have tasted, this one was definitely the best. Great value for money!
1
2 arancini 16€, one Peroni 7€! Stay away. Not only because of the prices but also for the terrible quality. Mushy rice and nonexistent seasoning in a dilapidated environment.
5
I tried their arancini during a trip to the island of Ortigia, very generous portions and delicious arancini, crunchy and above all made fresh. EXCELLENT

great staff, good and abundant food

I wanted to try it despite the fact that the price of the arancino was already outrageous (8 euros). I added a gluten-free beer (7 euros). They also charge a cover (1.50 euros) even though there is neither a tablecloth nor anything else to justify it. The size of the arancino is important, but the quality of the breading, the rice, and the seasoning is of very low level. In fact, in the vegan one, the vegetables are pickles (!!!) They are called tourist traps, and they should be avoided.

Exceptional gluten-free arancini, very large and tasty, worthy of being called Risto-Arancini. The price is worth the quality, especially in the other specialty cazzilli, cazzillo, and patapalla. A special mention to Chef Claudino, legendary 😍 Highly recommended

Best arancineria in Ortigia and surroundings, friendly and professional staff, excellent arancini and cazzilli cooked at the moment with a unique flavor and with special attention to our son, for whom they brought the order first. I especially recommend it if, like me, you need to eat gluten-free!
3
Gluten-free arancina weighing 350 grams. The classic one is good, but the ham and mozzarella could be improved. Possibility to dine on-site (few tables).

My partner is gluten free and was really keen to have an arancini. We found this place by accident. It was cooked fresh. She loved it, had the Classico. I able to compare. The polenta style coating is drier and crunchier than normal. It feels odd. However the interior was moist, well filled and extremely good (one of the best I had). The place is a bit zany with the dog and benny hill style visual gags which might be off putting but I would choose the arancini myself and for gluten free, only one we saw anywhere.

A small place near the market that offers gluten-free specialties. Affordable prices, pleasant service, food is average...

In pairs, we had a portion of cazzilli, a pistachio arancina, and a vegan one. The portions are very generous, and the owner is very kind. A good option for those suffering from celiac disease or lactose intolerance. I found everything very good, but I would avoid using pickled vegetables in the filling, which give a really off note of acidity.
1
terrible arancini, practically empty and cold inside. Exorbitant cost: 8€ for one arancino.
5
These arancini are out of this world!!! Delicious Sicilian arancini made with quality ingredients and tasty fillings. The owner offers vegan alternatives and is obviously gluten-free! The owner is an extraordinary and very kind man 🫶 The "Cazzilli" are also tasty, everything is truly amazing! And the mascot Totò is so cute ❤️🫶🌱🐶 Until next time! And thank you 🌱

DON'T GO THERE, you will thank me later. The arancino/a, if it can be called that, seemed deep-fried with an air fryer, the rice overcooked and the outside tough and sandy, the sauce inside was sour, in short, a truly inedible arancino and indeed I sent it back. The restaurant's policy states that you don’t have to pay for what you don’t eat because it’s bad. It’s a pity that for the rest of what I ordered, as you can see on the receipt, they asked me for an outrageous amount. Just around the corner (fry stand at the start of the market entering from Talete) I spent 26 euros for two arancini, fries, battered vegetables, fried fish, a 33 beer, and water, eating well and sitting! In the next review, I’ll tell you the name of the good place, but for sure I recommend DO NOT GO TO ARANCINA GLUTEN FREE!!!
5
Everything gluten-free, and just for this, it would deserve more stars. Very good arancino, excellent cazzilli. Everything is fried to order. Prices are definitely too high. I understand that gluten-free means higher costs for those who prepare them, but 8 euros for an arancino is really too much, not to mention the beer (7 euros). It’s still worth it because the quality is very good.
3
Definitely a significant gluten-free alternative. Tasty, large, and hot arancini. The cazzilli, on the other hand, were nothing special. Prices are definitely high; if you get a drink, you can easily exceed 80 euros. Nonetheless, it remains a great option for celiacs out and about without alternatives since the entire menu is gluten-free. Definitely more marketing than quality.

8 euros for an arancino and nothing special

We had a classic arancina, one carbonara, and some cazzilli. Everything was delicious and all gluten-free. The staff was super kind and friendly. Honest prices. Highly recommended!

We came here because we were visiting Ortigia for a weekend. I learned about the place through online reviews and websites that mentioned it. One thing I must say is that the external board listing the various items and prices is chaotic and it’s not clear what you're going to pay. Let me explain better. We ordered a carbonara arancina and didn’t understand that they all cost eight euros. I understand the effort for gluten-free options for us celiac patients, but 8 euros is significantly higher than the average for what it costs! Additionally, we were offered what seemed to be an aranciata, but then it appeared on the bill. It doesn't matter; it was very good and we paid for it willingly. The arancina was good, but despite its size, I think it didn’t have enough filling. It was empty inside and only filled one-third. The corn breading was nice, and it was great that there were also chips, fried items, or other gluten-free finger foods. However, it felt like a rip-off, and for our visit to Ortigia, we didn’t want to repeat it. I’ve had gluten-free arancine in Palermo, Trapani, Catania, and Ortigia center, and they were better than this. My rating is 3/5.

A place in Syracuse from the AFC circuit highly recommended for a quick lunch break with typical regional products... the fried ones! I tried arancina (really generous size, to be eaten with a fork), cazzilli (potato croquettes), and patapalle (a potato and gooey cheese croquette). You won't be disappointed! PS: beer was essential! 😂
4
I went on vacation to Syracuse with my family. We tried both arancini and croquettes (known in the Neapolitan style) since my daughter is celiac and couldn't taste them during the trip. What can I say? "Superb!"
2
Discreet arancino: a lot of marketing, little substance
3
Safe environment, only gluten-free food with a wide selection of arancini. In terms of taste, nothing special, but it's acceptable. Price a bit excessive, 8€ per arancino seems too much to me.
4
The location is well positioned, near the Ortigia market, the arancini are huge and really good. A must-try, in the many variants, even for those who are not celiac or vegan. Recommended.
5
If my girlfriend hadn't been vegan, I would have never discovered this place, and that would have been a real shame. Magnificent and huge arancini, gluten-free, with a light crust and a heart full of abundant, high-quality filling. A culinary experience to be had, whether for vegans or vegetarians or for anyone who loves the classic meat arancino. Excellent!
2
I appreciate that they have a gluten-free option (because unfortunately I didn't find other options to eat arancini in Syracuse) but the arancini are not very tasty and have little filling (just heavily fried rice). Moreover, they are really too expensive, both absolutely and in relation to the quality. Not even worth it for a celiac (like myself). NOT WORTHY
1
Tourist trap as I read from another review. Cold dressing for the ham and cheese arancina, fatty meat for the sauce arancina. The breading was extremely hard. The staff was very rude when I pointed out the issue. Pure business towards those looking to eat gluten-free. Overall, absolutely failed!

The place is a bit hidden by a market truck in Siracusa. It's a fairly "down-to-earth" spot where you can find typical Sicilian products, all gluten-free! Starting with classic arancine (€7 each), patatonde (potato croquettes with cheese inside, two servings for €6), and cazzilli (a cylinder of potato croquette with a choice of seasoning for €7). Personally, I tried a fish arancina with mushrooms and swordfish, very flavorful... however, the rice inside was slightly overcooked and the seasoning was a bit too spicy and hot. I spent €14 on one fish arancina and a bottled lemonade. Perhaps a negative point goes to the staff: at the cash register, they didn’t allow me to pay with a card, kindly asking me to pay in cash and then NOT giving me a receipt... Anyway, I recommend it to try typical gluten-free products.

From a Palermitan, I commend the restaurateur. Arancini made excellently, crispy on the outside, rice cooked to perfection inside. I tried 4 different arancini, Nutella patapalla, really excellent, with fresh ingredients, especially the fish. Attention for vegans, vegetarians, and lactose intolerant individuals. Prices are displayed outside, so you can easily decide whether to buy or not at this price. My note is for those who complain about the price: Buying and complaining is for the starving.
1
The worst arancino I've ever eaten. The owner welcomes us by claiming they are the best in all of Sicily. We immediately realize that the price is exaggerated, but we justify it since it's a gluten-free shop. Dirty and old tables, a makeshift arrangement. Then the super arancini arrive: a lump of rice with very little filling, scalding hot on the outside but icy cold in the middle, and the cheese is not melted. I hope this review helps prevent another poor celiac from falling into the trap.
5
Very good Arancina, made expressly at the moment of the request. The owner puts dedication and care in advising based on personal tastes, able to add ingredients without any additional cost. The entire menu is gluten-free, allowing you to eat an excellent product without worries or limitations. 6 euros for a rice bomb and filling of about 300 - 350 grams is a price I would always pay, especially for how good it is!! (even according to my boyfriend who ate several with gluten during the vacation!!). Highly recommended!!

You can't say the name arancina; don’t you understand that the correct name is arancinoooo. But well done for choosing to make gluten-free food because I am celiac.
1
A rather lamentable arancino in terms of flavor, heated white rice, breading made only of corn flour, and an even worse filling. Gluten-free does not mean robbing money (5 euros and up) and also having to be grateful to find something to eat. Absolutely not recommended.
5
Put an Arancina (already extraordinary in itself) and transform it into a Vegan and gluten-free version... You've got the winning formula to delight the palates of those who, by choice or necessity, do not want to give up a typically Sicilian delicacy. Wide choice of Vegan flavors with local specialty vegetables... Tasty, flavorful, gigantic... Deserves, deserves, deserves. P.S. The owner is very kind and knowledgeable!!!
