Cook with typical Mantuan products and various gluten-free options on the menu, including some desserts. The owner will make you feel comfortable right away and make you feel a bit at home! The selection of wines is also excellent. It's a pity that, unlike a few years ago – as mentioned by the owner himself – they no longer prepare pumpkin tortelli in a gluten-free version. Nevertheless, it's worth trying the rest of the menu :)

A place that offers typical cuisine with various gluten-free and vegan options. They are very attentive to celiac guests but have a single kitchen, so there is a risk of contamination. The quality-price ratio is good, the service and atmosphere are informal but welcoming. We had a great time and went back two days in a row!

A small and informal restaurant with very few seats, so reservation is highly recommended. The staff is available and kind but perhaps insufficient for the volume of work; we waited a long time whenever we needed to order. The varied menu is appreciated, with traditional dishes as well as vegan and gluten-free options. Unfortunately, it did not meet expectations. Regarding the vegan and gluten-free dishes, the appetizer was a thick slice of tofu on a vegetable burger with tomato sauce; it wasn't bad but nothing extraordinary. The first course was pea pasta with potatoes and leeks, which was really tasteless. Both the second course (vegan) based on seitan and the dessert were not particularly good. The only dish that was worthy was the traditional tortello, reinterpreted in an interesting way. I am sorry because I expected much more from the vegan and gluten-free alternatives, having also seen the menus from the past months and considering the prices.

We had dinner at Giallozucca with some guests with whom we wanted to make a good impression, but unfortunately our desire was not fulfilled. The location is certainly nice, well-kept details and with a lot of personality, on this there is nothing to say. However, let's move on to the sore notes. First of all, the service really needs to be reviewed, and I like to speak through examples. We had requested a specific sparkling wine, but, as a poetic license of the person who served us, we were served another type of wine, a “classical method from the solferino areas.” Now, I understand that the host wants to encourage drinking local wines, but presenting at our table, opening the unrequested bottle, and saying “if you don't drink it, I'll drink it” seems really absurd. Offering is one thing, but uncorking a bottle practically forces you morally to drink that, especially since we were not told the price (it was not communicated). Still talking about the service, let's say it was SLOW and confusing; they forgot some dishes, and in general, there was no particular finesse. Moving on to the dishes we ate, once again, I regret having to share my negative judgment. They welcome you with an amuse-bouche that adds nothing in terms of the dining experience. Literally a semi-cold artichoke cream where all the fibers of the artichoke are felt. Needs review. As for the appetizers, there were six of us and for a mixed appetizer, we were served miserly portions definitely not suitable for the number of people they were intended for. The cold cuts were poorly sliced and definitely not exceptional. Moving on to the first courses, and having ordered pumpkin tortelli, the typical dish of Mantova, I expected definitely better. The tortello itself wasn’t bad, the filling and pasta were good, but unfortunately they were served COLD and the portion was comparable to a tasting. I don’t expect full plates from a trattoria, but those portions were scandalous. For the modest sum of 16 euros. The second courses, the thigh and drumstick of chicken, were good, nothing to complain about. As for the desserts, the Belgian pudding was served poorly cut, in the sense that it had an indefinite shape and definitely not presentable in a restaurant like this (especially considering the price). The semifreddo with sbrisolona was mediocre. The sbrisolona, being gluten-free since it’s made with rice flour, was not the best, but I understand the choice. The bill was outrageous compared to how we were treated. In conclusion, I do not recommend it. First of all, the service needs to be revised (be less pretentious) and then pay more attention to detail. Serving cold dishes is unacceptable.
