My daughter and I loved the food, there's a gluten-free menu and no problems for my daughter during or after eating from this menu. Service was impeccable đź‘Ś however a slight dust issue (when I go out I'm like an inspector I check for dust and dirt in surrounding areas of establishments) where we sat I could see dust not much but a fingers worth and in the ladies toilets too. Would this have an impact on us coming back? Hell no we will be back as we loved the food, staff and atmosphere well done ladies and gents đź‘Ź

In this restaurant, I ate very well; they are very attentive and even gave me a tablet to check the allergens of each dish before ordering. They have a dedicated gluten-free menu and mark the table so that everyone is aware of special dietary needs. Prices are a bit higher compared to other places nearby.

This is the first time I've been to Browns and as I'm coeliac I was concerned about accidently being glutened. When we arrived they immediately acknowledged I was coeliac and gave me a Gluten Free menu. There was so much choice but I opted for the Ham Hock, chips and red wine jus. It tasted amazing and melted in my mouth. Then I had the apple and rhubarb crumble with ice cream. What a joy and pleasure to eat something everyone else could have too. The staff were so friendly, kind and understanding which made me feel happy and at ease. I had a great experience at Brown's and if you are coeliac let me reassure you it is 100% safe to eat here. Can't wait to go back again.

Very very disappointed! The steak tartare was cooked?? Basically a vinegary burger!..Two of us ordered the pork belly , one from the gluten free menu. First there was pork belly available.. then there was none left… then they came and said there was some .. then finally there was none!! One of our party’s fish was all batter.. the service was slow.. people who came in quite a while after us got served first! Maybe they took all the pork belly?? They knocked off the price of a starter on our bill …but really?? We were regular customers but no we won’t be back.

Perfect spot for a cozy and classy dinner after a day of travel. Gluten free options were outstanding and delicious! Danielle was a fabulous server. Highly recommend!

Food was amazing, service was quick and helpful, and the gluten free menu had a good selection. Very happy with our experience, will definitely be back if we find ourselves in Scotland again!

We went as group of 10 for some afternoon tea. With ÂŁ25 a person it was one of the more affordable ones I could find and it was very tasty. They catered to vegetarians and gluten frees nicely as well. It was super easy to book as a group and we had a great time.

I visited Browns on my first night back in Edinburgh via a friend’s recommendation. It has an absolutely beautiful bar and great food. My server Annelise was incredibly attentive and was very accommodating to my gluten allergy.

Service and the restaurant decor was fantastic. Our starters and desserts were superb including the calamari, scallops, sticky toffee pudding and chocolate trio. The main courses though were a big let down. My wife who is a Coeliac had the GF pasta dish. The sauce was quite nice but the pasta had been really overcooked. I had the chicken schnitzel expecting a nice thinly breaded piece of chicken. I got a breast butterflied in half. Thick and bland. Shame.
