Il Barbarossa Bistrot offers an excellent culinary experience with a rich gluten-free menu, including remarkable pizza and desserts. The courteous staff and the wide selection of dishes make this place highly recommended for those seeking gluten-free options.

Pizza highly recommended by "Pizzeria Barbarossa Bistrot", Via Giuseppe Borsalino, 7, 15121 Alessandria AL. On the restaurant's website, it is stated that all pizzas, all dishes (appetizers, first courses, second courses) and all desserts can be prepared gluten-free!

The place has two separate wood-fired ovens to avoid contamination: truly excellent gluten-free pizza! There is a wide selection of desserts, all gluten-free. I will definitely return to try the restaurant menu as well, which can also be requested gluten-free.

Wow, what else can I say? Since I found out that I can no longer eat gluten, the first thing I thought was, "What about pizza?" I have tried many gluten-free pizzas, and none of them even remotely resembled the taste or texture of a regular one. I was in Alessandria and decided to go there with my dad, who can eat anything. I thought, "Lucky him, he will enjoy a good pizza," but I was sorely mistaken. My pizza was the best thing I have eaten in years: flavorful, beautiful, crumbly… I was full but couldn’t resist finishing it all, crust included. Even when it started to cool, I swear I was about to get emotional from the goodness! I also ordered a dessert, and as is my routine, I asked whether it was gluten-free or not. The staff immediately reassured me that all desserts are gluten-free. I had the crema catalana, my dad had the tiramisù, but there was so much choice. Even now, my dad doesn’t know that his tiramisù was gluten-free! They have two separate counters and two ovens for regular and gluten-free pizzas, and when it comes to starters and main dishes, they can cater to everyone with both "normal" and "abnormal" versions. The staff is really kind and helpful, the pizza chef super friendly, and he always circulates among the tables making everyone feel at home. Beautiful place. I highly recommend it!

If you are celiac, you are in the right place! Every Thursday for me is pizza Thursday. Since I discovered this pizzeria, I haven't needed to look for others. Their gluten-free pizza is amazing: light and with an incredible dough, the kind that makes you forget it's gluten-free. The Summer is my absolute favorite. I also tried the desserts, and they are really good. A guarantee. Highly recommended.

Celebrated the birthday peacefully with family and delicious dishes. Especially the safety of the gluten-free line for my sister. Excellent pizzas and particularly abundant, original fish dishes served with care. All desserts gluten-free, exquisite 😋😋 Prices are very reasonable, I would say.

I define it THE place for gluten-free. For me, the number one in the city. You won't regret it and you will definitely come back. Top!

Cute place, the pizza seems really good without gluten. The restaurant has two separate kitchens, which makes me feel very safe regarding the risk of contamination! The staff is kind. The prices are a bit high, but given the presence of the two kitchens, it makes sense. I recommend it to everyone; even the pizzas with classic flours are very good and well-cooked. The seafood menu isn't bad either!

Perfect place. They have %100 gluten free options. Chef and personel are amazing. I am really suprised , Alessandria is small town and they have laboratorio. Thank you everyone come and eat here

The pizza is good and so are the gluten-free desserts. The menu also includes traditional doughs for those without restrictions.

The place has two ovens, a kitchen, and a dedicated gluten-free laboratory. The pizza is really good, and you can customize it as you like. All the desserts are gluten-free. Finally, it is a shop for gluten-free products from a local pastry chef. Highly recommended!!

On 06/01/23: Tonight I really felt like having a good gluten-free mixed fry and I gave up pizza. A tasty and well-presented dish. Shrimp, squid, and fried vegetables, all accompanied by a good white wine. And to top it off, I couldn’t miss dessert; I chose a hazelnut Bavarian cream with a chocolate waffle. Really good! Check out the photos. On 11/18/22, Friday night with some friends, mostly celiacs like me, we decided to meet up and go eat at Barbarossa Bistrot in Alessandria. On the menu, you choose the "base" (normal, multi-grain, or gluten-free) and then select various ingredients to compose the pizza to your liking. Next to each individual ingredient, the price is listed so you can evaluate the final cost of the pizza, to which the price of the chosen base is added. Alternatively, there are 15 types of pizzas called "the unique ones," a kind of gourmet pizzas, for which the ingredients are unchangeable and you can only vary the base. I opted for one of these "unique" pizzas with gluten-free dough: the Picasso. It’s a white pizza with lard, caramelized onions, toma, and mozzarella. I find it perfectly balanced in flavors. For dessert, though I promised myself to behave, I couldn’t resist a creamy gianduia and zabaglione with a chocolate waffle. Fast and professional service as always (I’ve been to this restaurant-pizzeria before), excellent quality of the used ingredients. The venue is also a restaurant and you can eat very well; almost all dishes can be modified in gluten-free version upon request, and there are also some vegetarian dishes. All desserts, however, are gluten-free. As for the prices? Getting up from the table satisfied, never heavy, knowing that I can count on a place that knows how to manage the preparation of gluten-free pizzas and safe dishes for celiacs is priceless for me. So the quality-price ratio is fair in my opinion. Note: the restaurant and services are accessible to people in wheelchairs, nearby there are some paid parking spaces, or about 50 meters away is the large Garibaldi square, which is a paid parking lot. I don’t remember when you can park freely, sorry.

Nice place, very organized regarding gluten issues, and not to mention the location that makes it easy to reach by car. The staff is prepared and not too formal, which made my evening enjoyable. Medium-high prices, but they respect the quality of the dishes, and let's admit we're not close to the sea. I don’t have much to add except my one issue regarding the level of doneness of the sausage on the pizza (I personally don’t like it raw). Nonetheless, the pizza dough was very good and not heavy, and the desserts amazed me, especially because, due to a mistake from their suppliers, I managed to get one off the menu. Honestly, I would recommend it; I had a good experience.

We had a wonderful dinner tonight. Two of us had glutenfree pasta and pizza, all delicious. The waitress Yasmine was so friendly, helpfull and patient with us. Will come back for sure!

Certified gluten-free pizzeria. Exceptional pizzas to create freely. Large indoor and outdoor spaces, very clean establishment and friendly staff. Highly recommended!

I returned after 2 years of not going there anymore (due to COVID, obviously). The place has been refurbished, nice, welcoming, and clean!!! The owners and staff are skilled and professional, providing excellent service even with all the issues at hand. The food is as great as always, with a wide variety of pizzas, and what I liked most is that I can choose the ingredients for my pizza, and there’s also gluten-free dough! The pizza I ate was perfectly digestible!! Great place, but if you want to go, make a reservation. The only downside is the cars passing by for those eating outside... but that's not the establishment's fault. 😊

A place that you can't understand unless you've been there. It has undergone a transformation over time, making it one of the top venues in Alessandria. Not only is there good food, but also the wisdom to vary the raw materials while paying maximum attention to gluten-free options. The real sin is not stopping here to eat. Highly recommended.

Really excellent, the entire menu can be gluten-free and their pizza is truly exceptional (practically identical to the gluten one)

The food is excellent and the desserts are wonderful. But above all, it's great that we celiacs feel normal.

I got two gluten-free takeaway pizzas, paid a lot for them, they were uncooked, and very small. PS. Pizza is something else.

gluten-free pizza is excellent! The beers are good too, and there is a wide selection of desserts. The staff is courteous and attentive to the customer's needs.

Since I discovered this restaurant, I immediately fell in love with it. I wanted to give it 5 stars because it represents everything I expect from a restaurant. Friendly and knowledgeable staff, excellent cuisine even for celiacs (which is very much appreciated), and an excellent aesthetic look. Since they renovated and modernized the premises, they have an extra edge, and that's why in Alessandria, if it continues like this, it will remain one of the best quality-price choices. Anti-COVID measures respected by the entire staff. Well done, well done.

I recently found out that I am celiac and this was my first AIC certified restaurant. What can I say, I hope they are all like this... The gluten-free pizza was amazing, I could hardly notice the difference from traditional pizza. The beer was also a pleasant surprise; I’ve tried other gluten-free options and none were as good as this one.

The best place to dine, even for those with intolerances and celiac disease, everything is excellent and prepared with care and attention 🔝😍

The best gluten-free pizza I've ever had in eight years of celiac disease! The dough is special, but the quality of the toppings is high as well! I’m not from Alexandria, but since I discovered this pizzeria, I go regularly! The desserts are also excellent! Friendly and knowledgeable staff!! Fair prices for the quality they offer! A must-try!!

The place is nice and welcoming. They also prepare gluten-free pizzas. At the table, we are served the menu: literally a mess! The choice of pizzas is quite complicated for someone who is not used to it. The prices are definitely inadequate and too high for the quality of the pizzas and everything else on the menu. The same goes for the drinks... The cover charge is excessively high (€2) considering that everything is served on paper tablecloths and the napkins too. I hadn't been to this restaurant for a while and compared to a few years ago, everything has improved only in aesthetics! Not recommended for anyone who wants to eat decent pizza without spending a fortune!

Great location, about 800m from Piazza Libertà, with convenient parking. They offer gluten-free dishes, including fresh bread and delicious grissini. The place is clean, and the staff is quick and attentive. The warm octopus with potatoes is excellent: I've never had one that good! Very good quality/price ratio. Highly recommended.

Renewed venue, both in the dining area and the kitchen. The gluten-free dough has significantly improved, now it is finally good and light. The pizza can be customized to your liking, and this, while seeming like a detail, is a significant plus. Excellent quality/price ratio. I will return.

Best restaurant I've been to in Alessandria, I can't recommend it enough, it's a family run restaurant and you can tell by the environment it's beautiful, the food is good and the portions are generous, most plate are around 10€, but it's worth it, they even have gluten free options for those of you that need them.

Great place, friendly and kind staff, it makes you hungry to see the open kitchen with busy chefs, excellent fish across the board, great gluten-free menu for those with intolerances. We arrived almost by chance but will definitely return. The desserts are also gluten-free and very varied.
