The place is absolute, one of the most delicious gluten free pastry place that you can experience in Rome!! š They have everything for everyone!!
5
The most delicious gelato I have ever eaten in Italy. They also have a huge selection of desserts, cookies, etc. Very good service.
4
I was there with friends, on Sunday morning it is crowded! I had some cream puffs and a few cookies, everything was good. I left satisfied!
5
What an incredible place. The gluten free pastries, cookies And cakes are amazing. The lady behind the counter was super nice. She helped me choose which things to buy. After I has a ristretto at the bar. Again super friendly service. I didn't have a problem with the payment system. Many countries do it that way. I'll definitely go back next time in Rome

I knew you for your packaged gluten-free products and had the pleasure of trying your fresh pastries... the maritozzo is unique! I would gladly returnā¤ļø

Last night I bought a pistachio ice cream cake for the birthday of my friend. It was super delicious and fresh. Just heads up that they are two lines and you need to get different numbers (gluten free or normal products).

In my opinion, a place where the smell of coffee and vanilla can be sensed, where mind-blowing pastries are served, should be filled with positive energy and people who smile at you in the morning to let you savor your coffee. It was my first time here, but I did not feel that nice sensation either with the cashier who was on the phone and made me wait to pay for my coffee, nor with the barista who gave me my cappuccino. There was a text by Ernest Hemingway written on the wall that caught my attention, but even more importantly, there was a quote from this writer that says: "Good behavior is something that everyone sees and no one forgets." And this made me decide not to return here. Even though, from the outside, the window with its beautifully colored pastries continues to wink at me.

A pastry bar where people with celiac disease donāt have to settle for the usual "sad gluten-free packaged cookie" to have breakfast with friends or family. Here you can finally find everything you desire: croissants, pastries, cakes, sandwiches, and maritozzi. Satisfied!
2
I bought an artisan panettone but then I discover a list of ingredients longer than those in the packaged ones with hydrogenated fats, which you can't even find in packaged snacks anymore. Use of preservatives despite the short shelf life. And the taste isn't great either. The packaging was nice.
5
Several times I visited the Napoleoni pastry shop to buy fresh gluten-free pastries; today for the first time I also had breakfast there. It goes without saying that the gluten-free pastries were delicious and very satisfying for their price. I know from others that the gluten-containing ones were also fantastic. Regarding the staff, nothing to say; everyone was helpful and well-mannered. An experience I can't wait to repeat, congratulations!
4
An excellent discovery! A pastry shop with a great variety of desserts, all carefully crafted and delicious. I particularly appreciated the gluten-free offerings, truly excellent ā finally gluten-free desserts that don't make you miss the traditional ones. Friendly staff and a welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommended!

I stopped by to get a quick cake for my birthday... they had a mimosa gelato and I must say it was a beautiful surprise!! Delicious and appreciated even by those who eat gluten. Really goodš„°
1
terrible gluten-free experience, croissants not that good and especially if your name says GLUTEN FREE and every photo on the internet shows a huge counter of products, when I arrive there I can't find a 1-meter stand dedicated to gluten-free. TRAP, every positive review I read seems fake to me, there are no other explanations. really awful
5
Great laboratory for gluten-free products. The BabĆ is very good, but in my opinion, ā¬4 is a bit too much.
5
An old family-run pastry shop, producing truly excellent oil and wine. Gluten-free pastries, good coffee, and desserts.
5
Always a guarantee! Great gluten-free products. I always buy them and recommend them! I also recommend the gluten-free appetizer!
1
From a bakery that offers a "gluten-free" line, one expects a different level of attention to the product as a whole, more focus on the quality of the ingredients, and a healthier offering. Instead, the sweets we tried (particularly the Sacher) were overly sugary and ended up having almost indistinguishable taste. Customer attention needs to be re-evaluated.
5
The brioches are delicious.

Napoleoni supplies many gluten-free places, so of course my review can only be positive. For a birthday, we ordered some savory pastries (they were very large) and small pizzas, 1 kg of each, and we paid about 44/46 euros. The only downside: we asked for rustic mini-pizzas, but when I go in the morning I can't find gluten-free brioche. Even when I go early. Last time, as soon as I arrived, they had just been taken away, I don't know why. The gluten-free ricotta and raspberry tart is delicious, and the same goes for the rolls.
5
A paradise for celiacs. I had forgotten what it means to have breakfast at the cafƩ. Fresh and fragrant products, so much courtesy, one flaw.... you are too far from my home... but the journey is well worth it.
1
Terrible Gluten Free service. I am celiac and wanted to try the maritozzi, knowing that they had them gluten-free here. I stopped by on Thursday and they told me they donāt have them, but that they only make them on Saturday and Sunday. Iām not from the area, but I still came by on Sunday, and by about 10:30 they were already sold out. After all, if Iām told that I would find them on Saturday and Sunday, I donāt think I should have to call the day before. Unfortunately, we celiacs always have to settle. I can find any gluten-free breakfast products anywhere else (e.g., New Food); I came to you specifically for the maritozzi because I knew you were 'famous' for that product.
5
The best gluten-free pastry shop in Rome. The croissants don't even seem to be gluten-free products.
5
the best gluten-free maritozzo in Rome. Small pastries are also available by reservation.
5
Excellent pastry shop. You will find an immense display of pastries and sweets, both GLUTEN-FREE and with gluten. The products are of excellent quality. I highly recommend this place.
5
Wide selection of delicious gluten-free brioche. Great place for breakfast, easily accessible by subway.

I can't say it was a pleasant experience. There were some going back and forth when ordering from different counters at the shop. Although the overall selection was impressive. Nonetheless, it seems like the vegan options in the afternoon were quite limited, and it might be better to go for a croissant in the morning. I tried this 'sfogliata' with jam. The nuts helped to balance out the extreme sweetness of the cake still, it was too sugary and sticky to eat. However, the coffee was really good. If you plan to go to the shop on a Sunday, be careful because they charge for service if you eat outside. It may be safer and more cost-effective to stay indoors where it's free.
4
Pastry shop of good level! Recommended place, courteous and attentive staff, ideal for a gluten-free breakfast, has a wide selection of small pastries. The aperitif is also good.

Good cake, if it had been the one I ordered, it would have been better. Encouraged by the excellent small pastry shop, I decided to order my birthday cake from them only to be extremely disappointed and bitterly regret it, finding myself with a cake that seemed to have come straight out of an 80s magazine. The cake was ordered on October 4th for October 7th: initially, a drip cake was requested, but they were unable to make it because they didn't know what it was; so we settled for a mimosa-style cake decorated at the sides with a smooth cream top and berries (despite the discontent). For the filling, a diplomatic cream with zabaglione and plenty of berries was requested, which unfortunately is not what we ultimately received, as we were sold a cake filled with very mildly zabaglione-flavored cream and only 10 berries sprinkled throughout the filling. Moreover, it was overflowing with syrup as the tray underneath with which it was sold was soaked in it. Oh, a round cake was requested, needless to say, I received a rectangular one. The requested chocolate plaque was made of sugar paste. In conclusion: if you're okay with receiving a cake chosen by them despite the clear requests, this place is for you. If, however, for your birthday you want a very specific cake, look for another pastry shop. All in all, this 2,200 gr cake cost ā¬62.05, in line with gluten-free cake prices, but honestly, for a cake made to their standards, I wouldn't have spent that much.
5
Great breakfast with a wide selection of gluten-free artisanal products (sweet buns, pastries, cookies...). The gluten-containing sweet items are also excellent! Fast service. Would definitely return!
5
Delicious cakes and cookies.

Napoleoni is a historic pastry shop that has been attracting many people for years who come here for breakfast, to buy a cake, or to grab a pastry on the go. We often stop by on Sundays to buy gluten-free treats for my sister-in-law, and often they are even better than regular sweets. Of course, you have to endure the line and that flock of idiots who park in front of the pastry shop in truly atrocious ways, but I would say itās worth it.
5
I am celiac. I was on vacation in Rome. Since I discovered it, it has become a fixed stop every time I am in Rome. It is 50 meters from the metro exit and the buses. The quality of gluten-free sweets and savory items is unmatched, making me doubt they were made for celiacs. Even those who were with me tried the gluten-free products and didn't notice the difference. Absolutely recommended.
5
Highly recommended for those like me who eat gluten-free. A showcase with bakery and pastry products. Over time, I've tasted practically everything and I must say, nearly everything is excellent. I suggest a dream breakfast (everything is tasty) and soft sandwiches for lunch that donāt crumble at all. Also, the fresh pastries are delicious. In short, exceptional; I wish there were more places like this. Prices are normal and the staff is kind and professional. I hear that even the regular (non-gluten-free) products are great. I go every time I'm in Rome. Highly recommended.
5
Pastry shop, bar, and many other things. A "quasi historical" shop in the neighborhood with a varied and loyal clientele, even now that equally valid alternatives are present in the area. Personally, I love the pastry sector more than the bar, due to the undeniable quality of the products offered. For the bar, although I recognize the craftsmanship of the morning products (croissants, etc.), I find them too heavy and prefer other options. Overall, the venue deserves the highest level.
1
Terrible personal experience. I ordered a Mimosa cake (which, as long as anyone can remember, has at least one intermediate layer of sponge cake, if not two, and is filled with custard and cream, as can be seen in thousands of images on the internet), and I find myself with a cake that has no mimosa effect on the outside (normally given by the crumbled sponge cake) but is flat, with a minimal layer of sponge cake on top and bottom (not even 1 cm) and with an internal mass of only cream. When I expressed my complaints, they responded irritably that this is how they make it and appealed to the principle of the pastry chef's relativism (essentially: everyone does as they please, perhaps to save time and money and especially without informing the customer beforehand). Amen!
5
As a celiac, my review is based on gluten-free products. I've always had a good experience; some time ago I tried the croissant with Nutella, and I must say it's the best among all those I've tasted. The mini-pizzas are also very good, both the white and red ones. There's often a line, but that's a positive factor because it means the food is good; if there were never anyone, I would have some doubts. Lastly, I add the proximity to the metro and the Caffarella park; a nice walk never hurts.
4
The place is located 100 meters from the A line metro stop Colli Albani. It offers a wide selection of classic pastries, with a wide range of truly high-quality gluten-free products. The traditional pastries are also excellent, especially the shortcrust pastry, which is perfect. Prices are definitely good, and the staff is polite and attentive to anti-COVID regulations.
4
Outside the more touristy circuits, near the park of the Appian Way, there is this pastry shop (Colli Albani metro stop). It has a specific area for gluten-free products, both sweet and savory. The style is a bit retro. You can sit both inside and outside.
5
The best gluten-free pastry shop in Rome! The place has an entire area dedicated exclusively to gluten-free products for celiacs. In addition to pastries, you will also find sandwiches, rolls, mini pizzas, and pizza available at the counter or by order, all of course 100% gluten free. In Rome, Napoleoni is undoubtedly a landmark for celiacs šš¼

The bar is located in an excellent position: on Via Appia Nuova, near the Metro A "COLLI ALBANI." The staff is kind and professional. In this bar, in the past, my wife and I have had breakfast many times. The cappuccinos and coffees are great. The croissants are very tasty: those "with gluten" are quite large, while the "gluten free" ones are a bit small, which I have mentioned several times to the staff and the owners at the register. When the bar reopened after the summer holidays in 2021, we noticed that the prices of croissants, I must say, have "risen a bit": those with gluten increased by 10 cents, while "gluten-free" ones increased by 20 cents, and, the latter, remain the same size, that is small. At this point, I wonder: along with the price, isn't it time to also increase the weight/dimension of the "gluten-free" croissants to satisfy customers, including the writer, who needs to eat "gluten-free" and is forced to pay a price 60 cents higher than those with gluten? I can imagine the answer: the preparation of gluten-free croissants is special; in my humble opinion, paying ā¬1.70 for a croissant as I described above is a bit expensive, considering that elsewhere I haven't paid that amount. For these reasons, I have given 4 stars only for the economic aspect related to the costs of the "gluten-free" croissants, without detracting from the kindness/professionalism of the staff, as well as the goodness of the other products: croissants, large and mini pastries, cakes.
4
A very assorted pastry shop, excellent cherry tarts for which my husband comes specifically. They come in two sizes, classic and a smaller, cheaper version called 'barchetta'. The 'occhi di bue' are also worth trying; their pastry is really good and fragrant. I want to highlight the presence of a counter dedicated exclusively to gluten-free sweets, a commendable initiative. The coffee for me is not the best, but personal taste varies for everyone: my husband prefers it to many others.

I did not make a mistake... I indicated 1 star because 0 (=zero) is not allowed!!!... Alas, the pastry shop/bar is very well known and renowned in the neighborhood and much of Rome, but enjoys an undeserved reputation! This is not the first time I have gone to Napoleoni, but it's always the same old story: extremely rude staff, inattentive and unhelpful.... I understand the very correct anti-COVID rules, but they should apply to all customers, indiscriminately: I cannot accept that at 5:50 PM it is impossible to consume a slice of cake and a cappuccino at the counter while two greedy kids accompanied by their equally hungry father are being served.... Then to 'get rid of the nuisance,' I am forced to settle for a coffee that can only be described as 'dishwater'!!!.... Luckily, I refrained from purchasing a cake for Sunday, choosing another establishment!!! After all, Napoleoni, as far as I'm concerned, is absolutely not an excellence, but rather quite mediocre!... And perhaps then, they 'cry poverty' because of the pandemic.... Happy to have made a purchase at another pastry shop, less known, certainly, but with more courteous staff deserving of 'being rewarded' with my choice of purchase at their respective establishment. This teaches you not to be tempted by.... 'lures for the gullible' !!!!
3
Good quality and medium-high prices. A critique of the staff's courtesy. Not very attentive to customers. I had to ask for a bag for the cake. I was given the bag but I had to take care of packing it myself.
4
Great selection and very good products. The pastries for breakfast are good and it's worth having breakfast here. Staff are sometimes kind and sometimes ignore you, but I believe that's becoming the norm everywhere.
1
Gluten-free is a great choice, but prices are too high, bread is only available on order, and the pizza is too greasy. The desserts are excellent, but I hardly ever eat them. One star because I've had to ask for the receipt more than once; it seems to be a habit, and I think it's really bad. Response: saying that I am impatient is truly unpleasant; this is well known in celiac groups, and I hope you realize it.
4
A landmark in the area for pastries that, once discovered or rather tasted, becomes a temptation that is hard to resist. Thus, for example, having breakfast here becomes a very pleasant way to start the day. Especially considering that the bar also lends a... hand, or rather a cup or a small cup as it may be. Of course, apart from breakfast, any other excuse is equally enjoyable. It's a pity about the current limitations in effect due to the pandemic. Worth trying is the new initiative for selling bulk wine from the organic vineyards of Cavalieri.
4
Renowned pastry shop, always fresh products. Modest selection of gluten-free desserts. Only 2 products without milk and gluten, a bit few. The table service leaves something to be desired.
3
Beautiful motorcycle exhibition, but the quality didn't satisfy me; the pastries weren't very fresh (I took more than one thing)... what a shame, I expected much better.
5
One of the very few pastry shops in Rome that offers gluten-free products that can truly be compared in taste and texture to those with gluten. It is clear that they have conducted a study of naturally gluten-free flours. Well done!
5
A landmark for many Romans, not just in the neighborhood. I moved to the area more than 50 years ago and they already existed... Courtesy, quality of products, and professionalism have never stopped growing. They have become an Institution.
3
The place seems stuck in the 80s. The stairs are dangerous for both the elderly and children, and impassable for those with disabilities. The bartenders and staff are nice, but the owner is always busy on the phone. Fortunately, I'm just passing through, take what I want from the mini gluten-free counter, and run away. The parking is almost impossible to find. Anyway, the assortment of sweets is good.
5
Excellent historical pastry shop, also gluten-free. The choice of desserts is very wide. The specialty is the Napoleoni cake covered with pistachio crumbs.
5
I had the chance to taste their ice cream. A few classic cream flavors, very well selected and crafted with a sublime consistency. I will definitely return for the inviting pastry counter.
5
The pastry shop is excellent, the strong point is the gluten-free pastries. It's impossible to distinguish a gluten-free pastry from a regular one. Highly recommended.
5
A bar where you can find gluten-free food (both sweet and savory) as good as the 'normal' one. I, being gluten intolerant, am glad to have discovered this bar, where I often go for breakfast like normal people, eating gluten-free products that are almost identical to gluten-containing products. Those who are gluten intolerant know how hard it is to find a place like this.
5
Inimitable. Everything works. The best sweets in the area. One downside: it's often crowded. But good for them.
4
Kind and professional staff. Large and tasty croissants, while the gluten-free ones are a bit small and not exactly cheap. Clean location. A coffee and a gluten-free croissant cost 2.5 euros.
