1000 Gourmet Venezia | Gluten-free in Venezia

C. Specchieri, 475, Venezia

1000 Gourmet Venezia offers a good selection of gluten-free dishes with very kind staff. However, the venue is quite small and needs to improve the layout of the spaces. It remains an interesting choice for those looking for gluten-free options.

PIZZA NOT SUITABLE FOR CELIACS. PARTLY GLUTEN FREE BUT COOKED IN THE SAME OVEN AS REGULAR PIZZA AND WITHOUT ANY PROTECTIVE TRAY. THIS IS NOT A ISSUE OF CONTAMINATION RISK, BUT A CERTAINTY.

Very good pizzeria and crowded with people. They offer the possibility to choose a gluten-free crust, warning that they cannot guarantee the absence of contamination. This, being intolerant to wheat, still allowed me to enjoy a good pizza.

Very kind staff. It's a pity that the gluten-free pizza is made on the same counter and with the same rice flour as the regular pizzas. So it's not safe at all to eat gluten-free pizza. Therefore, the gluten-free logo should be removed from the menu. The gluten-free pasta is excellent, but the prices are very high for 80g of pasta!

We were recommended this place and I must say we had a good experience. Not far from St. Mark's Square. We tried the pizzas they offer, including gluten-free options, but they are baked in the same oven, so there is definitely contamination. The doughs were excellent, both with and without gluten. I challenge anyone to notice the difference at first sight. The price is a bit higher than average but it's understandable in Venice.

A venue located in the heart of Venice, right next to St. Mark's Square. Friendly and professional staff. We booked in advance and as soon as we arrived, they seated us right away. The pizzas are really good, flavorful but well balanced. The gluten-free dough is also excellent, but note that they are cooked in the same oven as the classic dough pizzas. The venue has air conditioning and is a great compromise between quality and price.

No for celiacs!!!!!! After booking for dinner, they still make us wait/let people in without a reservation first. We came for the gluten-free options, and only once seated at the table do they tell us that they’ve run out of gluten-free dough, which is shocking because: 1. You inform customers upon reservation 2. You could put a sign outside. At this point, I order a platter, and for a few slices of ham and bresaola, they charge me 20 euros, with no gluten-free bread because, of course, they are not provided. REMOVE THE GLUTEN-FREE SIGN

The place is small and, in my opinion, the furniture is totally disorganized: as soon as you walk in, there's no reception to greet customers, but you immediately bump into the open kitchen and half a meter from it are the tables with diners having dinner. Since there's no space inside, new customers are forced to wait outside for the waiter to seat them. We had booked a couple of days in advance and therefore one would expect that, since we didn't arrive at the last minute, a table in a comfortable position would be reserved for us. Instead, we were seated in the middle of a small room with the bathroom door that, when opened, almost touched the chair and the waiters were running back and forth to serve customers sitting outside, obviously with the exit door being opened every 3 seconds, letting in cold air (we had to rearrange the seats at the table to avoid freezing). The decor is very basic. That said, we expected great satisfaction at least from the pizza. I must say that the ingredients are refined and fresh, however, the pizza is delicious for the first two slices, then it begins to feel heavy and finishing it is very difficult. However, I appreciated the gluten-free dough. Let's get to the sore point of the evening, the bill: 42 euros for 2 pizzas and 1L of water (2 euros per person for cover charge, 6 euros for the water, one pizza 15 euros and the gluten-free one 17 euros). The desserts looked inviting but 10 euros for a slice of cake, no thanks. I understand the proximity to Piazza S.Marco (5 minutes) but it remains just a simple pizzeria. That said, I don't think we will return.
