YUM!

Excellent food, vegan, mostly homemade. The menu clearly indicates gluten-free dishes or those with a gluten-free option. Very knowledgeable staff, but they do not guarantee against contamination. The only downside is the desserts (almost all gluten-free).

Hug bistro surprised me for the variety of homemade, healthy ingredients and products and for their attention for sustainability and accessibility for everyone as everything is vegan and almost everything is gluten free and sugar free. I was mostly impressed by their cheese options, they have so many and all of them made with different nuts such as cashews, macadamia nuts or almonds etc. I'll come back as soon as possible to try every single product, made my day ❤️ I had "Fagottini" as starter, a sort of fried empanada filled with black beans, herb cheese and batata with Sichuan pepper then a "Yoghi", this original sandwich (even though they call it focaccia) made with chestnut flour, BIO corn flour and charcoal, stuffed with pears caramelized in mirin and coconut sugar, the sauce which was a bit spicy but delicious made with carrots, dehydrated tomatoes, cauliflower and vegan cheese with herbs and lettuce. In the end I had to try the dessert and I chose winter version "Tiramis-hug", with a base of cookies and coffee and two different types of creams, one with pumpkin and mascarpone cheese and the other one was vegan Nutella. The only critique I could do is the lack of fruit juices, I imagine they have so many things to prepare and to think about but I had to take a cola (bio obviously) because kombucha was finished even if I'd prefer something more refreshing and natural.

Wonderful discovery! I found this place by chance on Instagram and finally last night my boyfriend and I left Milan to try it. What can I say, a dream! Starting with the kindness of the girl in the dining room, really nice, helpful, and ready to advise us and explain the dishes on the menu, to the incredibly delicious food. Everything is vegan, homemade, and organic, and wherever possible, they also use gluten-free and minimally processed flours. We opted for the Mix Hug (2 olives - 2 mozzarella - 2 falafel - 2 polenta - 2 pieces of zucchini cheese, olives, and sun-dried tomatoes - pickles - 2 sauces (classic mayo and mustard mayo), it is basically fried but using quinoa flour as breading, the girl explained that even those who don't eat fried food (I can't eat it) can enjoy it because the oil doesn't penetrate. It was simply exquisite, it tasted baked. Then for the appetizer, we also had some gratinated zucchini (special too). We continued with the Lebanese burger and the Pecorino burger. A poem of flavors! A mix of special ingredients for an unparalleled result. To conclude, Mango and blueberry semifreddo (raw and sugar-free) and a cheese-fake* with salted date cream. The desserts were divine but we were super full 😂 so we opted for the takeout doggy bag (we'll finish them today for snack 😁). What can I say, recommended is an understatement! We can’t wait to go back :) congrats again, guys!
