I ate at this trattoria a couple of times. The owner/cook seems quite knowledgeable about gluten-free options. However, the waiter (though kind) asked me to confirm whether, as a celiac, I could NOT eat the cannoli on a day when the chef was off. This made me worry about the almond parfait that was served to me as an alternative. Fortunately, I didn't feel ill. There were some ups and downs regarding the dishes (wrongly cooked angus, a seafood appetizer a bit 80s but abundant, excellent cream pasta with pistachio crumbs and shrimp). Pros: knowledgeable cook about gluten-free options; friendly and attentive service; generous portions. Cons: waiter not knowledgeable about celiac disease; outdated (and I don’t mean traditional Sicilian dishes, but things like prawn cocktail) and uncreative kitchen; one risks eating dishes with incorrect cooking and gross technical errors if unlucky with the choice.

Simple trattoria in the center of Sciacca, but in a quiet area. Welcoming and knowledgeable about gluten-free options. Possibility to have gluten-free pasta. I was also served a gluten-free sandwich (frozen, but good) on a small plate to accompany the starter.
