Among the various places in town, my girlfriend and I stumbled upon Gelateria Vernaci. First of all, the place is really cute. It's located right on one of the main streets, where there are lots of people strolling in the evening. The atmosphere is fantastic, even now during the late summer evenings. But let's get to the point: the ice cream is delicious! My girlfriend is a bit complicated with food (gluten and lactose intolerant), but here she felt amazing. They have several lactose-free flavors, and for some, they use stevia instead of sugar. We went there three nights in a row. Once we had a granita (which was super good), but the other two nights we couldn't resist the ice cream. The girls working there are super nice! Always smiling and willing to explain everything about the various flavors. In short, if you find yourself in Castellammare, make sure to visit. Whether you're craving a classic ice cream or looking for something lactose-free, this is the place for you. And come on, an evening walk with a nice ice cream in hand... what could be better?
