Walking around Montepulciano, we stopped at “Lo Sfizio” because my husband was attracted by the offer of a sandwich with porchetta + a glass of wine for €6. I asked if they could slice some salami to put in the gluten-free bread I had brought with me, and to my surprise, they were also equipped with some pre-packaged bread that they heated and filled with one of the toppings displayed on their menu. I noticed a certain level of attention regarding cross-contamination but not absolute certainty. At your discretion, for me personally, it was an excellent solution for a casual lunch.
