At the start, the staff asks if anyone eats gluten free. you get a special placemat that says Senza glutine. There is a special gluten free menu, but all the pasta and pizza can be made gluten free. the pizza and tiramisu were delicious

Pizza, pasta, and much more available gluten-free as well, the service was very attentive and aware regarding celiac disease! We ate well and carefree there. The outdoor seating is really nice, great ambiance.

Had GF home made prawn tagliolini here the other day, while I was enjoying beautiful Lucca with my local friend A. The dish is quite filling, and they let people eating gluten free food to choose between their GF pasta options and between all the sauces, allowing them to create a dish that suits their liking. I would have enjoyed more stuffed-pasta options like tortelloni (but there were indeed tordelli lucchesi among the many options, which is probably the most typical Lucca traditional fresh pasta) which were available on the normal menu, but unavailable in the GF one. Overall though I appreciated their offer. The only aspect I should mention is that extra 3.50€ for gluten free food is quite pricey. I understand to a certain extent the necessity to increase the price, but honestly 2€ (which is the amount chosen by many other restaurants) would have been enough.

Chose this place because it had gluten free options at no extra cost. Pizza bases, pasta, lasagne and even bruschetta were all available gluten free. Once we saw the menu though, we decided to get the grillata and pomodoro to share. They were both very tasty. We also got gluten free bruschetta, which came as an offer with a spritz. We chose lemoncello. The service was excellent. Our order came in good time and we had a nice little chat with the waitress. It's in a busy plaza and you will be asked by several other restaurants if you want to sit while making your way to this one. It's quite noisy, the tables are small and of course it's a tourist hit spot, so take that on board. They make their own cheeses and small goods and they offer a tasting plate to share if that's the way you want to go. If you're looking for gluten free, I believe this is a very good option.

Booked for lunch at Lucca Comics.. in the total chaos, they managed well. Too bad they serve the menu where dishes are missing without saying it beforehand.. and when ordering, the owner (completely flustered..) makes mistakes.. bringing gluten-free dishes with gluten and vice versa. If you focus on gluten-free, you can't make mistakes. Too bad, because I had high hopes for the place. When the waitress (after checking the wrong dish..) told me.. well, only the seasoning is wrong.. but it’s gluten-free.. my arms dropped. Noodles without personality.. Too bad. Next year.. we will try again.

The pizzas had a decidedly interesting appearance, but I wanted to try their gluten-free fresh pasta and I didn't make a mistake: excellent wild boar tortellini. Kudos for serving a pack of S.G. breadsticks and bringing some slices of S.G. bread as a side (the scarpetta was a must).

Restaurant "alla mano", excellent dishes, just the right portions and honest prices. Many dishes are also available gluten-free. The staff is very helpful. I especially thank the girl who takes the orders, kind and attentive. I recommend the fresh porcini mushroom tagliatelle, very good!

Beautiful to find typical gluten-free flavors while fully respecting tradition!! To enjoy the opportunity to eat really good homemade gluten-free pasta, especially in the setting of the Piazza dell’Anfiteatro, is truly an explosion of sensations. Mr. Gherardo vibrantly enlivens the service among the tables, urging the girls and boys who work with him (very kind and patient despite the heavy workload). Don’t underestimate trying the ribollita with warm croutons. In conclusion, a gluten-free and lactose-free coffee cream was offered.

I ordered a plate of homemade tagliatelle with lobster, really delicious. Furthermore, being lactose intolerant, they were careful to use oil instead of butter.

Simply perfect, attention to gluten-free options, even AIC certified and above all great food, tasty and well-prepared, a rarity nowadays. Regular prices on average. We will definitely return.

I share the experience of a lunch "at Gherardo" because it deserves it all. From the carefully curated and delicious dishes to the attention and especially the variety of homemade pasta (in a dedicated workshop) for the celiac person. From the young, kind, and efficient staff to the courtesy and friendliness of Gherardo. Not to mention an unforgettable dessert that I had never tasted before... but I won't say what it is because I truly recommend going to discover this gem of homemade pastry for yourself!!!

We found people of rare kindness, such as the owner. The attention to the celiac is emphasized by their commitment to a dedicated laboratory; we enjoyed dishes that are decidedly above average usually reserved for tourists. I would have given it zero but that's not possible. Attracted by the gluten-free handmade option due to celiac disease, we went there. Disgraceful pizza, it resembles one of those frozen pizzas you buy at the supermarket. They use garlic sauce on every type of pizza, after all, considering the foreign staff, it's to be expected. It's a "restaurant" that traps tourists, good only for foreign tourists who understand nothing about Italian food. If you're Italian, avoid it.

Excellent food, local ravioli, artisanal ragù, and pappa al pomodoro were truly top-notch. They have a gluten-free menu and remarkable attention to customer service from the beginning to the end of the experience. If I have to find a flaw, the cutlet was a bit too breaded compared to the thin slice of meat. But perfection doesn't exist, and I will definitely return to eat the pasta or other dishes and to try the magnificent gluten-free desserts on display!! Fair prices. Congratulations to those managing the place. Highly recommended.

Great restaurant in the heart of the city. My husband and I are both celiac, and here we had no trouble finding suitable options. The owner, Gherardo, is attentive, courteous, and always present in the dining room. We had superb lobster SG tagliatelle and fried food. Everything was excellent; in fact, we returned a second time the following year due to the great experience. Very satisfied. Thank you.
